Australia's Black Friday sales are arguably the biggest and most popular shopping event on the calendar. With practically every major retailer and brand getting in on the action, you know that that Amazon Black Friday sale will be massive too.

While Black Friday 2025 is officially on November 28, you can be sure Amazon AU will get in on the action earlier and host a rather long sale, potentially longer than the week-long Prime Day sale we had in July.

That's because in 2024, Amazon began its sale on November 19 in Australia (two days ahead of any other market it operates in), but ended proceedings on time on December 2, which was Cyber Monday last year. So it's highly likely we'll see a repeat performance, especially since its own Prime Day sales seem to be getting longer by the year. Not that we're complaining!

Unlike Prime Day sales, the good news here is that you don't need to be a Prime member to access Amazon's Black Friday sale, although it might save you on shipping costs if you are and there are often Prime-exclusive deals to take advantage of. You will, of course, need an Amazon account, which is free to create.

When the sale kicks off in November, we will of course be covering it live, but in the meantime, we've put together a handy guide to help you prepare. That said, there'll be the Prime Big Deal Days sale to potentially shop in October, which is usually a prelude to Amazon's Black Friday sale.

Amazon Australia Black Friday 2025 sale: key information

What date will Amazon's Black Friday 2025 sale start?

As already mentioned above, Black Friday 2025 is officially on November 28 this year which, as always, is the Friday immediately after the Thanksgiving celebrations in the US. However, Amazon hasn't waited till the official date to start its own Black Friday campaign for a few years now, so expect the sale to start a lot earlier than November 28.

Last year, the Amazon AU Black Friday sale started on November 19, so there's a good chance it will be November 18 this year, but we won't know for sure until Amazon officially announces the dates for 2025.

Amazon, however, always ends it Cyber Weekend sale on time on Cyber Monday, which is on December 1 this year.

In case you might be busy then or travelling, don't fret, because Amazon's Boxing Day 2025 sale will likely start before Christmas.

How long does Black Friday on Amazon Australia last?

The last few years, Amazon AU has started its Black Friday sale earlier than the official date and, in 2023, extended it beyond Cyber Monday. Last year, though, with the Cyber Weekend sale extending into December and not that far from Boxing Day, the deals ended on Cyber Monday (December 2) in 2024.

Given Black Friday is so late this year as well, it's highly like we'll see an official end to the sale on Cyber Monday, with the Boxing Day deals coming through just a couple of weeks after that.

So while Amazon's Black Friday sale can last a couple of weeks, the best deals will likely be during the four-day weekend between November 28 and December 1, 2025.

Can you get free Amazon delivery without Prime?

Yes, you can get free Australian delivery even if you're not a Prime member, but you will need to make eligible purchases of over AU$59. These are only select products that are shipped and sold by Amazon AU or sold by third-party sellers but shipped by Amazon AU. They will be marked as 'Free Delivery' on the product's listing page.

You will, however, still need to sign up for a free Amazon account, but this does not get you expedited delivery – free and fast delivery is only for Prime members. The good news is you'll know when to expect your purchases as Amazon usually provides the estimated delivery date when you head to checkout.

Is Amazon Black Friday sale better than Prime Day?

In Australia, there isn't a huge difference in the kind of discounts you'll see during the July Prime Day sale and Amazon's Black Friday sale, although we have seen many retailers and brands offer record-low prices during the latter shopping event. The difference in price could well be marginal though, often just a dollar less in November compared to the July price.

There are exceptions to the rule always, of course, and that is at the discretion of the brand or retailer selling on Amazon. For example, you might find Dyson offers up to 55% off during Prime Day on one of its coveted products, but the Black Friday discount could be 58%. These are rare and, more often than not, we've seen the Prime Day prices being matched in November.

Prime Big Deal Days: takeaways from October 2024

In October 2024, Amazon Australia hosted its second Prime Big Deal Days sale, which was a 6-day event. This year, we're expecting this October sale to be 7 days long (shall we just start calling it Prime Week now?), matching what took place in July 2025.

This second sale, though, is prelude to what the online retailer is likely to offer during Black Friday, although the prices won't necessarily be as good as the July Prime Day, and it's the latter that is usually matched in November.

And while you can always expect Amazon to discount its own hardware, there was one glaring omission during all its major sales – there were no Prime Day Kindle deals in 2024. We saw some in July 2025, so we're hoping it was a one-off and now that Australia has the full range of Kindles, including the Colorsoft, there's hope.

Amazon also didn't discount any of its popular Fire TV Sticks in October last year, although they were steeply discounted in July and we're quite sure they'll see the same discounts again in November, if not better. There were plenty of Echo smart speakers going cheap though.

While a lot of the other offers either matched what we saw during July's 2024 main Prime Day sale event or were less than what was previously on offer, there were plenty of items to shop. With Black Friday, however, Amazon is likely to outdo its October performance, so expect more deals and deeper discounts directly from the retail giant as well as from resellers.

Amazon Australia Black Friday deals 2025: predictions

Being such a massive online retailer, it can be difficult to know what to look for during Amazon’s Black Friday deals. And with the site stocking such a huge range of items, it’s sometimes tricky to predict exactly which devices will see the best offers come November.

Amazon does have its strengths and weaknesses – it’s a great place to head for deals on Amazon’s Echo range of smart home devices, Garmin smartwatches, Apple products, Dyson vacuums and styling tools, premium audio gear and so much more. When it comes to tech though, there’s one big category that Amazon is missing, and that’s TVs.

Amazon will also frequently price match, or even price beat, its online competitors, and we've seen that happen over the last couple of Black Friday sales. Keep this in mind while you hunt for deals from various retailers, as you might be able to secure more savings this way.

At any time on its site, Amazon has three types of deals going – there’s Lightning Deals that are only available for a few hours, Deal of the Day that will last for 24 hours and regular deals that will be live for the entire sale period.

You’ll often find that Amazon’s own products, such as Echo devices, Kindles and Fire TV Sticks, will be available for the same price throughout the Black Friday to Cyber Monday weekend, but if you’re looking for other items, you’ll need to keep checking Amazon’s site – or stick with us if it's the best tech deals you're after.

There are also WOW deals to take into the equation. Amazon began to offer these during 2020’s Prime Day – these are available in very limited quantities for just 2-4 hours, and they usually come on popular items such as Apple AirPods Pro, the Nintendo Switch or premium headphones from Bose and Sony. That said, we haven't seen any WOW deals in 2024, so we can't say for certain if these will be on offer again.

It’s also worth noting that Australians will have access to select deals from the Amazon sites in other countries too – specifically the US, UK, Germany and Japan – and they’ll all be visible on our local website. There can be great value in these deals too, but just keep in mind they’ll be the international version of the product and could face shipping delays, or come with international power plugs.
