World's fastest graphics cards...
The key thing here is that you don't always need to drop £500 on a new graphics card; the ubiquitous nature of console conversions in the games industry and the relative age of the current generation of consoles means that more often than not the latest PC games aren't going to stretch the fastest GPUs to their limit.
To that end we've also put together a five card shortlist of the best budget graphics cards if you don't feel like selling the kids to fuel your next gaming fix.
So how does your graphics card stand in our countdown, and is it time for an upgrade? Well, there's only one way to find out...

7. why write that HD 4870 X2 is hot and GTX 295 is not, makes no sense, the 295 uses alot more power and produces alot more heat than 4870 X2, heck GT200 core is twice the size of RV770 :p
btw HD 5870 is faster than GTX 295 in most games that do not have SLI profiles etc and the 5870 uses half the power and even lower in idle

3. hey stoned420!!! first, u r nvidia`s fanboy,and u live in stone age... :D
ati doèsn`t lose performance eaven near 120c,
but nvidia loses in performance near 60c and freeses totaly about 65c. nvidia quad 295 can`t eaven reach to single ati 5870 in games and we talking about eyefinity!!! res 5760x1600.
nvidia 260 cost $230.00 same performance ati (hd3870) cost about $100.00 and this single ati can beat sli 260.
nvidia`s picture is a blur and nothing more, but ati`s is sharp, more detailed and draws longer distance....
etc.
any quessions???? :DD

2. you are all nothing but ATi fanbboys. How can a card that made 2 different benchmarks crash and is hot enough to cook on #1? True it is statistically the fastest card. The best card , by no means. A good card combines performance, stability and decent pricing. I bet if I hook up 2 zotac gtx260 amps, that I could get almost the same performance as this card with double the reliability and near the price of 1 of these cards.
