It’s Christmas for Dyson fans at the moment, as the cleaning, air purification and hair care tech company has just unveiled a truckload of impressive gadgets, such as the improved Dyson V8 Cyclone and the new range-topping V16 Piston Animal. But while I’m happy for a trickle of new and improved toys, I’m more interested in getting a bargain – which Dyson is very much delivering.

Right now on Amazon and Dyson’s website, you can score massive savings on some of the best Dyson vacuum cleaners. Depending on the attachments that you’re looking for, along with the suction power you crave, Dyson should have a stick vacuum perfect for your home. I’ve picked out three brilliant vacuums for a variety of households, along with some additional discounted options with select attachments included.

The V8 is Dyson’s next model up from the entry-level V7 stick vacuum, offering up to 40 minutes of runtime and 115W of suction. It’s one of the oldest models in the Dyson family, and earned four stars in our Dyson V8 review. The V8 Absolute includes a motorised cleaning head, fluffy cleaning head, combination tool, crevice tool and hair screw tool. Just be aware that its bin isn’t too big and that you’ll get better suction with newer models.

The Gen5Detect is one of Dyson’s more high-tech stick vacuums, packing a useful laser headlight for detecting dust and particles, along with a well-designed cleaning head for tackling hair with ease. It’s a tad heavy for a cordless vacuum, but it received four and a half stars in TechRadar’s Dyson Gen5Detect review. Includes a fluffy optic head, digital motorbar head, dusting and crevice tool, hair screw tool and combination tool. Also available from Dyson for AU$1,099.

Dyson V15s Detect Submarine Complete
Save 27% (AU$450)
Dyson V15s Detect Submarine Complete: was AU$1,649 now AU$1,199 at Dyson

Up until today, when Dyson revealed the V16 Piston Animal Submarine Wet and Dry, the V15s Detect Submarine Complete represented the height of Dyson’s stick vacuum range – and it had (and continues to have) the powerful suction, long battery life and handy additional tech to prove it. It comes with a Submarine wet roller head, fluffy optic cleaning head, digital motorbar head, hair screw tool, combination tool, dusting crevice tool and submarine drip tray. The vacuum earned four stars in TechRadar’s Dyson V15s Detect review, though we noted leaking issues with the dirty water compartment and were unimpressed with the trigger operation.

Too much vacuum? These other discounted models may be worth considering:
