Can’t wait for The Devil Wears Prada 2? Stream 3 of the best Disney+ movies with a passion for fashion while you wait
Fashion films? For streaming? Groundbreaking
I've never wished for time-travel to be possible harder than I am now, purely so I can see The Devil Wears Prada 2 without having to wait.
Sadly, there's still six months between me and the sequel of the century, and the FOMO is kicking in big time. Thankfully, Disney+ has our backs when it come to fashion-focused films.
As a former fashion student (shoutout to my fellow London College of Fashion alumni), I've possibly watched every fashion movie in existence, from serious documentaries to frivolous comedies. As far as streaming services go, Disney+ is undoubtedly the best for the latter.
There's only so many times I can watch The Devil Wears Prada 2 trailer before YouTube reports me, so I'm revisiting these three fashion classics you cannot miss in the meantime (which are all available on Disney+ in the US, UK and Australia).
Confessions of a Shopaholic
Release date: February 13, 2009
Rating: PG
Runtime: 105 mins
Cast: Isla Fisher, Krysten Ritter, Hugh Dancy, Joan Cusack
Picture it: it's 2009, and I'm sitting at the back of the school bus blasting Kat DeLuna's 'Calling You' on my 1st generation iPod Classic, one of many certified bangers featured on the Confessions of a Shopaholic soundtrack. I've read the Sophie Kinsella novel of the same name, and watched the Isla Fisher-led movie more times than I care to count.
Not only was it the first time I properly realized the impact debt and shopping addictions had on people, but I was bowled over by the outfits, drama, humor, and Fisher's natural charm. Even as an adult, I don't really understand why Confessions of a Shopaholic was so universally hated on.

In fact, I'd say it was up there with The Devil Wears Prada in terms of timeless cultural classics. None of it feels date, the jokes still land as well as they used to, and it's all just incredibly sweet and hopeful. Did I mention the banging soundtrack?
Hulu + Live TV, Disney+ and ESPN for three months: was $89.99 per month now $64.99 at Hulu
Save over 27% on Hulu's Live TV bundle plan until November 18, 2025, by picking up this limited-time deal that brings down the cost to $64.99 per month for three months instead of its usual $89.99 per month. With a price increase of $7 per month introduced on October 21 (making the bundle $89.99 per month), you'll want to act fast! Disney+, Hulu and ESPN Select access are also included but be aware that this bundle does include ads.
Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie
Release date: July 1, 2016
Rating: R
Runtime: 86mins
Cast: Jennifer Saunders, Joanna Lumley, Julia Sawalha, June Whitefield
Sweetie Darling! Long before there was Miranda and Andy, there was Eddie (Jennifer Saunders) and Patsy (Joanna Lumley). I've seen every episode of the original 90s sitcom more times than I've seen my own family this year, so when the 2016 movie came out, I was locked in.
Does Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie live up to the sitcom? No. Does it throw caution to the wind to give its fans a good time? Every step of the way. Every celebrity wanted to be a part of this movie, and you can tell just how much love went into making it.
Obviously, nobody is a bigger star than Eddie and Pats themselves. Saunders and Lumley's chemistry and unspoken understanding of each other has never changed, and I could happily watch them riff off each other for the next half a century. Just as well, because does Lumley ever age?
Disney+ and Hulu annual ad-supported plan: was $21.98 per month now $12.99 at Hulu and Disney+
To subscribe to Disney+ and Hulu's ad-supported plans separately would normally cost just under $22 dollars a month for a bundle, but you can get them both for $12.99 a month with this bundle, representing a saving of 40% on separate annual plans. Sadly, you'll have to watch commercials on both streaming services, but with a saving of over $100 on offer compared to if you bought both services separately, we suspect you'll think it's a price worth paying. This is the usual bundle saving to be clear.
The Devil Wears Prada
Release date: October 5, 2006
Rating: PG-13
Runtime: 109 minutes
Cast: Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci
Have I written this list purely as an excuse to talk about the original The Devil Wears Prada? Maybe. I couldn't write a fashion movie listicle without including the reason why every thirtysomething woman is on the verge of wetting themselves with excitement, just like we did when we were tweens.
At the time, I don't think I realized just how big of a deal it was that Meryl Streep had signed onto the movie, and the awesome foursome of her, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci act like they were always meant to be together. The parallels between the fictional Runway and Vogue have pantomime levels of brilliance, but The Devil Wears Prada is never afraid to get serious.
But then there's the quotable dialogue. The fact that Streep improvised the best parts of the cerulean belt scene. Hathaway's iconic costume change montage soundtracked by Madonna's 'Vogue.' Blunt not being able to open a yoghurt. What more could you ask of peak 2000s cinema? You need to watch it again... that's all.
Hulu, Disney+ and HBO Max bundle: was $32.97 for three-months now $19.99 at Hulu
This is another bundle offer but it gets you access to Hulu, Disney+ and HBO Max for three-months for close to 40% off buying each service on its own. This is just the regular discounted bundle price, but it's good to know about. One thing to note is that this bundle offer only applies to each service's ad-supported plan, so don't expect to find premium features as part of this bundle, for that you'll need to spend $32.99 a month. But you do unlock access to the best Disney+ movies, the best Disney+ shows, the best HBO Max shows and the best HBO Max movies alongside Hulu's great content library.
