Some of our favourite Dyson vacuums are heavily discounted with up to AU$949 in savings to be sucked up

It’s no secret that Dyson makes some of the best cordless vacuum cleaners and, while my colleague who’s been testing the British brand’s products for years is not entirely sold on some of its latest releases, I think it’s still one of the most innovative brands in the home appliances space. That, however, means it’s firmly in the premium tier with prices to match.

Take the latest flagship, for example. The company has tried something new, but our Dyson V16 Piston Animal review found it wasn’t the best vacuum we’ve seen from the popular brand. It's also one of the most expensive. However, that minor gripe has now been fixed thanks to a massive discount – it can be now snapped up for just AU$1,399 (down from AU$2,348) – and it’s the most powerful Dyson yet with up to 310AW of suction.

Set the V16 aside, though, and I have it on good authority that there are plenty of other Dysons that are worth the money – as long as you can pick them up at a discount. Dyson’s currently hosting a sale with up to AU$949 off select products, including vacuums, haircare tools and purifiers, but I’ve picked our favourite Dyson vacuums here at TechRadar.

One notable inclusion that I need to call out is the recently released headline-grabbing Dyson PencilVac Fluffycones, which is getting a AU$151 price cut. This is the vacuum that embodies Dyson’s innovation.

Dyson V15 Detect Absolute
Save 40% (AU$573)
Dyson V15 Detect Absolute: was AU$1,449 now AU$876 at Dyson Australia

As the most recommended Dyson vacuum by one of our TechRadar experts, the V15 Detect offers very powerful suction, clever automation features like detecting the type of floor it’s cleaning, and a floorhead with included lasers to illuminate dust to improve visibility. With more than AU$570 off the price, the value for money here is hard to overlook.

Dyson PencilVac Fluffycones
Save 16% (AU$151)
Dyson PencilVac Fluffycones: was AU$949 now AU$798 at Dyson Australia

The name points to its extremely compact form factor that packs everything inside the handle – a tube that measures just 3.8cm in diameter, roughly the same size as a ping pong ball. It might sacrifice some suction power, so it’s not suited for cleaning carpets, but it is very nimble and manoeuvrable when used on hard floors. Plus it can pack a surprising amount of dust in the bin through compression and debuts a new FluffyCones cleaning head. A discount like this for a newly released and innovative Dyson vacuum is tempting for smaller spaces with hard floors.

Dyson V8 Absolute
Save 50% (AU$500)
Dyson V8 Absolute: was AU$999 now AU$499 at Dyson Australia

This vacuum may have been released a decade ago as the flagship stick model, but the Dyson V8 Absolute is a very capable budget option with good suction and useful attachments, plus a wall-mounted docking station. For AU$499, this discount can entice someone that’s new to the brand wanting a straightforward stick vacuum.

Dyson V9 Submarine
Save 30% (AU$304)
Dyson V9 Submarine: was AU$999 now AU$695 at Dyson Australia

If you want a 2-in-1 option for mopping and vacuuming, the Dyson V9 Submarine is a similarly-specced vacuum as the V8 above, but ships with a better-designed Submarine wet roller head and the anti-tangle Motorbar cleaner head. Apart from the mopping functionality, the V9 is also lighter than the V8, it can recharge quicker, features an LCD screen and has the in-line configuration of the newer Dyson stick vacuums. The discount isn’t as generous in comparison, but AU$304 off a Dyson released in 2025 isn’t something to scoff at.

If you’re interested in other Dyson products, some of its hair care products and fans are also discounted, with savings of up to AU$150 for the Dyson Pure Hot + Cool purifying fan and AU$203 off the Dyson Airstrait straightener and dryer.

Whichever product you’re shopping for, be sure to check for any Dyson Australia coupon codes and see if you can save even more on a vacuum, fan or hair care product.
