Ninja, one of the biggest names in kitchen appliances, is set to make a splash in Australia's premium coffee scene with its first bean-to-cup machine. As of September 23, the Ninja Luxe Café Premier is officially available to purchase directly from Ninja – taking aim at established rivals like Breville with its feature-packed design and a price tag of AU$999.99.

Already boasting some of the best air fryers on the market, alongside other top-performing kitchen gadgets, it only makes sense for Ninja to try its hand at the best coffee machines. This move into the premium space is a significant step. While Ninja has previously released pod and drip coffee makers, such as the Ninja DualBrew Pro, in other markets, the Luxe Café Premier is its first true bean-to-cup machine – and the first worthy of launching Down Under.

We've been expecting (and hoping) that it would, because much like the Ninja Creami, the Luxe Café Premier was a global hit that garnered massive attention online and quickly sold out. It comes in four colours (Stainless Steel, Midnight Black, Cyberspace and Gunmetal) and all the tools you need for your brew. If you're interested, you'd better get in quick, as we expect Aussie audiences to be as impressed with it as their global counterparts.

According to our 4.5-star Ninja Luxe Café review, this machine is worth the hype. Our tester said it was "an espresso machine anyone can master" that offers pro-level drinks without the effort. She also applauded its consistently great brews, ease of use, striking build and excellent value – quite a statement considering its price. The biggest issue she could find was the minor drawback of no dedicated hot water line. For even better value, signing up for the Ninja newsletter via the website pop-up nets you a 10% discount code.

Ninja states that this machine is "the ultimate guided experience", with 'Barista Assist Technology' that coaches you through the entire process. Essentially, no matter your coffee preference – hot, cold, black or a creamy cappuccino – this machine is for you.

Plus, it allows you to broaden your horizons (or cater to others in your home) without taking up a barista course

The espresso option lets you choose your preferred strength and temperature, with double and quadruple shot settings for those mornings when you need an extra kick to get you started. The drip coffee option can brew 6-18oz coffee hot or cold (and cold-pressed espresso shots).

It even has a hands-free froth system that combines steaming and whisking to get exactly the right texture for those who don't trust themselves with the steam wand.

While it's sensibly priced in the world of premium coffee machines, AU$999 is still a hefty purchase. That said, our reviewer identified only a few reasons not to buy it: if you need to brew large batches of coffee, want a dedicated hot water line or are looking for a compact machine.

For most coffee lovers, the Ninja Luxe Café Premier is a winner. However, it has some serious competition at this price point, like the Breville Barista Pro or De'Longhi La Specialista Touch.

So, while it's likely to sell out within the next few days, it might be worth waiting and checking to see if it cracks our guide to the best coffee machines to ensure the brew is worth the pour.
