Keen to get into VR? The Meta Quest 3S just hit a new Australian all-time low price for Black Friday

If you’ve been intrigued by the world of virtual reality headsets but have held off investing in one due to price points, then this Black Friday deal on the Meta Quest 3S is one you’ll want to take notice of.

We said the Meta Quest 3S was the best affordable VR headset in our review, and as it’s now received a discount for Black Friday.

The biggest discount applies to the 256GB model, although it's no longer quite as good as we saw earlier in the sale (it was AU$220.99 and is now only a AU$120 discount). While our tester did say that 128GB should be fine for most users, it’s only had a more modest discount that brings it down to AU$418. Given the 256GB model only costs AU$31 more, I reckon it makes more economic sense to go for more storage to ensure you’re future proofed.

It might only get a minor AU$32 discount, but we already thought the 128GB Quest 3S was on the more affordable side. If you’ve been eyeing up a VR headset, this is now a fantastic opportunity to score what is undeniably one of the best-value models around.

If you’ve never used a VR headset before and are intimidated about setting it up, fear not. In reality, all you actually need is a decent amount of space – ideally about 1m x 1m around you – to move around while you play games. (We’ve all surely seen videos of people running into a wall or flailing their arms around and hitting their TV. You don’t want that to happen to you, do you?)

The Quest 3S has a great selection of games too, many of which are exclusive to the platform. Some solid options to get you started on your VR gaming journey include Walkabout Mini Golf, Beat Saber, Batman: Arkham Shadow and Vendetta Forever.

You’ll also be able to take advantage of dedicated VR experiences on Netflix and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, if you’re subscribed to either service, and you could even dip your toes into VR fitness via a dedicated Quest Fitness portal, which includes games that get you moving, by distracting you with engaging action.
