There are plenty of new movies coming to Prime Video in December 2025, with one of the best streaming services updating its library once again.

I was especially impressed as three big, critically acclaimed movies are making their way onto the streamer very soon. If you missed them at the movie theater or you can't wait to watch them again, there's plenty to look forward to here.

The Phoenician Scheme

RT score: 77%
Runtime: 101 minutes
Director: Wes Anderson
Age Rating: PG-13
Cast: Benicio del Toro, Mia Threapleton, Michael Cera, Riz Ahmed, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston

Wes Anderson is back with his latest big-screen flick, featuring his usual brand of symmetry, an ensemble cast, and plenty of quirkiness.

The Phoenician Scheme has a 77% critical score on Rotten Tomatoes, which means it's another of Anderson's movies that's well worth watching. This movie follows the daughter of a wealthy businessman who becomes the sole heir to his estate.

But she soon becomes the target of scheming tycoons, foreign terrorists, and determined assassins, resulting in a solid espionage comedy that's a lot bloodier than Anderson's previous works.

The Naked Gun

RT score: 87%
Runtime: 85 minutes
Director: Akiva Schaffer
Age Rating: PG-13
Cast: Liam Neeson, Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, Kevin Durand, Danny Huston

Described as more of a sequel than a remake, the 2025 version of The Naked Gun was a huge surprise indeed. Here, Liam Neeson plays Frank Drebin Jr., the son of Leslie Nielsen's iconic character from the original 80s movie, delivering a familiar format with a new face attached.

Fans of the original should be very entertained by this, as it pays tribute to Nielsen's Frank Drebin while following his son as he tries to follow in his father's footsteps to prevent the closure of Police Squad.

With an all-star cast including Neeson. Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, and Kevin Durand, this is a must-watch.

Sinners

RT score: 97%
Runtime: 138 minutes
Director: Ryan Coogler
Age Rating: R
Cast: Michael B. Jordan, Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Caton, Jack O'Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson

If you've missed Sinners, I insist you watch it as soon as possible. Ryan Coogler's action horror movie is one of the biggest names of the year, and for good reason. I've seen it three times now and can't get enough of it.

The movie follows the Smokestack Twins (both played by Michael B. Jordan), who return to their hometown in an attempt to leave their troubled lives behind. But when they get there, they learn that an even greater evil is waiting for them.

If you watch any of these three, definitely make it Sinners!

She has written several reviews in her time, starting with a small self-ran blog called Lucy Goes to Hollywood before moving onto bigger websites such as What's on TV and What to Watch, with TechRadar being her most recent venture. Her interests primarily lie within horror and thriller, loving nothing more than a chilling story that keeps her thinking moments after the credits have rolled. Many of these creepy tales can be found on the streaming services she covers regularly.

When she’s not scaring herself half to death with the various shows and movies she watches, she likes to unwind by playing video games on Easy Mode and has no shame in admitting she’s terrible at them.
