Disney+ price: how much does each plan cost, are any deals available, is it cheaper than Netflix, and more
Is Disney+ worth subscribing to? TechRadar's experts tell all
Disney+ used to provide true value for money. But, with one of the best streaming services upping the price across all tiers in the US and UK in October 2025, you might be asking if it's actually worth subscribing to (if you're a new customer) or remaining an active user (if you've already got an account).
In this guide, I'll collated the most important information on the cost of Disney+, how it compares to its streaming rivals, and whether it's worth opening an account with them. That way, you'll be able to make a decision on if what it offers justifies the price.
- US: Subscribe to Disney+ from $11.99 per month
- UK: Subscribe to Disney+ from £5.99 per month
- Australia: Subscribe to Disney+ from AU$13.99
With Black Friday 2025 practically upon us – at the time of this article's latest update, anyway – I'll also tell you if there are any offers available for you to take advantage of. So, delay on longer, dear reader – get the full scoop on Disney+ and its various price points.
Disney+ prices: the basics
Since its initial US launch in November 2019, Disney+ has become more expensive worldwide.
As of November 2025, US users have to part with $11.99 per month for its ad-supported plan and $15.99 every 30 days for the ad-free tier. Annually, you're looking at paying $189.99 for the ad-free experience, too.
In the UK, the ad-based option is £5.99 a month, the standard ad-free tier costs £9.99 per month, and the ad-free Premium plan is £14.99 per month. Annually, the ad-free tiers are £99.90 and £149.90 respectively.
It's unclear if and when non-US and non-UK users will need to pay more to stream the best Disney+ movies and best Disney+ shows around. Once I hear anything about price increases in other nations and/or territories, you'll be the first to know.
For now, here's a quick rundown on the cheapest price points for Disney+ in select countries:
- US: from $11.99 a month with ads
- UK: from £5.99 a month with ads
- Europe: from €5.99 a month with ads
- Canada: from CA$8.99 a month with ads
- Australia: from AU$13.99 a month with ads
- New Zealand: from NZ$14.99 a month with ads
As of November 25, 2025, there are a couple of cheap workarounds that'll allow you to bypass any recent or upcoming price hikes.
The first – not to mention permanent – one concerns Disney+'s password sharing crackdown. Disney doesn't allow people who live in a separate household to you to access your account for free anymore. Family members or friends who want to continue using your Disney+ account need to be added as an 'Extra Member' to your subscription.
In the US, you'll need to pay an additional $6.99 (with ads) and $9.99 (without ads) per month. Meanwhile, UK consumers will need to fork out £4.99 for the ad-supported tier, or £5.99 every 30 days for both of the ad-free offerings.
Sure, that means your monthly fee is higher than it would be without adding someone else to your account. However, as long as they reimburse you, or even go halves with you on the total cost of the tier you're signed up to, it's a cost-effective alternative than everyone owning separate accounts.
The other big saving – one that's only available in the US, FYI – comes in the form of a limited-time offer for Black Friday 2025. Indeed, new and returning consumers stateside can save $95 by signing up for an annual subscription to the ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu bundle. That represents a saving of 62%. You'll need to act fast, though, because the deal ends at 11:59pm PT on Monday, December 1.

You can get more bang for your buck if you decide to purchase one of the many Disney+ bundles that are available, too. Signing up for one will grant you access to even more content via one or more additional streaming platforms, which will save you money because you won't have to sign up for each one individually.
Here's a snapshot of how much each bundle currently costs:
- Disney+ and Hulu Bundle (with ads) – $12.99 a month
- Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Select Bundle (with ads) – $19.99 per month

Indeed, from November 25 to December 1, a 12-month subscription will only set you back $4.99 per month, so it's well worth considering if you're currently operating on a reduced budget.

How does the Disney+ price compare to other streamers?
Disney+ notwithstanding, there are seven other major streaming services that are competing for your attention.
The main problem, though, is deciding which one is right for you. Without signing up – or, if one is available, making use of a free trial – to a specific service to see what new movies and TV shows they offer, there's no real way of telling if they're worth the investment.
That's where I come in. Below, I've rounded up the price of each platform's cheapest non-ad-supported tier. That way, you can see – at a glance – how they compare to each other and, if you're short of cash and can only afford one per month, get a better sense of which one is best to try first from a financial perspective.
Streaming service | Ad-free rate |
|---|---|
Disney+ | $15.99 a month |
Netflix | $17.99 or $24.99 a month |
HBO Max | $18.49 or $22.99 a month |
Hulu | $18.99 a month |
Paramount+ | $12.99 a month |
Apple TV | $12.99 a month |
Peacock TV | $16.99 a month |
Is Disney+ worth the price?
In short: yes. Disney+ is on the pricier side when it comes to its ad-free tiers but, if you can stomach the odd advert or two, and are working to a budget, its ad-supported subscription is worth investing in.
As one of the oldest studios around, Disney has built an extensive – and mostly excellent – back catalog of films and TV series.
On the animation side of things, there are plenty of classic animated Disney movies and Pixar delights to enjoy. Disney+ is also home to numerous big franchises, such as Star Wars and Marvel, its own Original movies and TV shows, and nature documentaries by way of National Geographic. It even features adult-oriented content, so it's not the wholly kid-friendly streamer that many people make it out to be.
Disney+ doesn't license content from its streaming rivals, so you won't be able to stream originals from its competitors, including Netflix and Prime Video. Frankly, though, it doesn't need to. There's over a century's worth of content to enjoy at home, so a Disney+ subscription is worth the investment.
And, hey, if you're not fussed on what's new on the platform for any given month, you can cancel your Disney+ subscription and reopen your account when there's something that piques your interest.
Disney Plus price: FAQs
Which countries is Disney+ available in?
Initially, Disney+ was only available in the US, Canada, and the Netherlands.
Since its November 2019 launch, it's rolled out to many other nations – 106, to be exact – including Australia, New Zealand, the UK, numerous European countries, Japan, and nations in Latin America.
Is a Disney+ free trial currently available?
A seven-day free trial was introduced when Disney+ was originally released, but one hasn't been available for years now.
If you're in the market for a new phone contract, there may be a way to try it for free if you can find a deal with Disney+ thrown in as part of a bundle. Alternatively, you can look at third-party websites to see if they've got a deal running. For more information, check out our Disney+ free trial guide.
Failing all of that, you can shift the cost onto a loved one and ask for a Disney+ gift card for your birthday, Christmas, or another special occasion. Hey, it's technically free if you didn't pay for it!
