I'm currently testing this lower-cost version of the Philips Hue colour-shifting light bulb, and my first impressions are very positive. They don't dim quite as low as classic Hue bulbs, or offer such a wide color gamut, but they're great for most purposes and spectacular value at under £50 for Cyber Monday

This device attaches to the cord of your regular blinds, and is compatible with all the major smart home ecosystems. It's a lot cheaper, faster, and easier than installing a whole smart blind, and you can take it with you when you move. At under £50 for Cyber Monday, it's a steal.

Switchbot Smart Button Pusher
Switchbot Smart Button Pusher: was £39.99 now £22.49 at Amazon

I have some of these ingenious little devices in my own home. They're a cheap way to make any regular appliance 'smart' by using a little arm to push buttons and flick switches remotely, when triggered by a particular event, or on a schedule. This is the cheapest they've been in a while.

If you're buying a video doorbell or smart security camera, bear in mind that some features may only be accessible if you also pay a monthly or annual subscription fee. You'll still get basic functionality (such as the ability to see what's happening live through the camera) but anything more advanced (like person-detection or cloud storage) will cost extra, so factor that into your decision-making.
