Forget Ninja, I just bought a giant 9L Asda air fryer for £38 to try a secret hack
This air fryer is the cheapest one I found that can combine two baskets into one
Kitchen gadgets are some of the most sought-after appliances during the shopping event of the year, and we've seen amazing Black Friday deals on the best air fryers. I am swapping my trusty Cosori air fryer for an Asda George dual air fryer in a sleeper hit bargain.
Asda has brought this George 9L air fryer down to a record-low price of £38 (was £75), almost half price. What's more, you get free delivery and while there are no online reviews of it yet, I'm happy to take a punt and return it should I be disappointed.
Asda offers a market-leading 100-day return window on homeware. Even for a Black Friday deal, this is quite the surprise, but I'm not complaining.
Air fryers are super convenient cooking appliances and I've been using one for more than a decade now.
Today's best Asda George air fryer Black Friday deal
Record-low price: For less than £40, this Asda Georgeair fryer packs more than the basic features needed to make a great kitchen gadget. With independent heating elements and the ability to combine two baskets into one, it should prove to be an instant hit in my household.
Affordable Air fryers do not need to be small or ugly. This Gino D'Acampo model, for example, has a large capacity basket (6L), has a Lego-esque design with two cute round knobs, a cubic shape and a nice pastel green finish.
Compared to my current Cosori air fryer, this one is all digital. No knobs or physical buttons. The compartment seems to be as wide and tall but a smidgen shallower as well.
You can use it as two independent 4.5 litre cooking zones with separate controls, or remove the divider to create a large 9-litre cooking area. I don't know how efficient that is going to be given. Note that it doesn't have a removable basket which means that I may need to adjust my cooking habits.
As for my secret hack, well, I will intend to use my air fryer to heat up serving plates. Doing so prevents your food from going warm when table-served.
