Amazon slashes the price of the Kindle Scribe with rumors of a new ereader coming soon
It's down to its lowest-ever price for non-Prime members

If you love to read but you don’t like having an Amazon Prime membership, we have a discount for you. Today, you can buy the Kindle Scribe at Amazon for $299.99 (was $399.99), which is a return to the lowest-ever price for the ereader for those without a Prime membership.
In the past, the Amazon Kindle Scribe has dropped $40 lower to $259.99, but only for anyone with an Amazon Prime membership. For regular customers, this is as low as it gets. It’s a good price for an ereader which also enables you to sketch out your own notes and documents, proving useful for creative types.
The Amazon Kindle Scribe offers a sizeable 10.2-inch, glare-free front-lit panel with 300 ppi, while its AI tools can quickly summarise your notes or enable you to convert your handwriting into a readable font. It’s a great all-rounder for anyone who wants to read and write on one device.
Today’s best Kindle deal
Amazon has dropped the price of the Kindle Scribe by $100 – that makes it the lowest-ever price for non-Prime members. If you’ve always appreciated the ereader format but you wish you could also draw or write your own designs, the Kindle Scribe is the solution for you. It feels like writing with a pen on paper, and also like you’re reading regular paper too. You can add notes to whatever you’re reading, but also write away separately from your reading material.
Our Amazon Kindle Scribe review called it “a better Kindle for writing”, describing it as “still the best big e-reader” with AI tools that are genuinely useful. Its 4.5-star review is well deserved with some “subtle improvements [that] add up in a big way”.
Due to its nature, it isn’t the best Kindle for everyone, given its hefty price tag, but it’s perfect for note-taking as well as reading. It also features in our look at the best ereaders for the best premium category, with it continuing to impress everyone who uses it.
The Kindle Scribe's big strength is that you can use it to write up your own notes without being distracted by notifications, as you would with the best tablets. It could actually make you more productive as you won't have that temptation to check social media for the latest news or memes.
Just be aware that there's a good chance we'll see at least one new Kindle at this week's big Amazon devices event. Given that this discount is live now, there's a good chance it could be an upgraded Kindle Scribe with color support. Be sure to stick with us for all the latest updates.
Of course, there are other tablet deals going on if you need those distractions. For something solely reading-focused, take a look at the Kindle deals available now too.
