MGM+ is the Black Friday streaming deal you need – Amazon’s best TV shows are waiting for you
Prime Video is spoiling us this Black Friday with over 30 add-on streaming deals available to beef up your main subscription.
For me, though, the best of the bunch is an extension of Amazon itself. We all know that Prime Video has its own cache of exclusive content – from Maxton Hall season 2 to Fallout – but did you know Amazon MGM+ offers just as much?
MGM+ is offering 75% off its first two months through Prime Video, bringing the price down to an unbelievable $1.99. That's basically cheaper than getting a '99 ice cream with a flake.
In all honesty, I'd go as far as to say that MGM+ content is just as good, if not better, than Prime Video's. Outlander and prequel series Outlander: Blood of my Blood speak for themselves, but another series has surprised me over the last few months: Robin Hood.
Today's best MGM+ Black Friday deal
MGM+ (Prime Video add-on): was $7.99 per month now $1.99 at Prime Video
As one of the cheapest deals here, you won't want to miss snapping up this MGM+ Prime Video add-on, especially if you've been keen to see the new Robin Hood series or the horror series The Institute. With this Prime Video add-on, you can shave 75% off the usual monthly price for two months.
Why you need to stream Robin Hood on MGM+ this Black Friday
I can already hear you asking why on Earth we need another adaptation of Robin Hood, and I had exactly the same thought before I watched it. However, creators Jonathan English and John Glenn are able to flesh our merry man in tights out into someone we've never considered before.
In this version, Hood simply goes by Rob (Jack Patten), a young man intent on preserving his community's way of life in Sherwood Forest. He has a complicated relationship with his parents, and strikes up affection for a young Marian (Lauren McQueen) when they were kids.
After the death of his father at the hands of the Sherriff of Nottingham (Sean Bean), Rob begins his journey as the urban legend we know and love. It's sensitive, complicated and more three-dimensional than most versions of him we see, and the chemistry between Patten and McQueen is exceptional.
For me, the standout is Connie Nielsen, who is introduced as Eleanor of Aquitaine in episode 3. A woman of few words, everything she says is a slice of sage wisdom, and is just as relevant for viewers in 2025 as it was in Ye Olde London. As the episodes continue, the stakes only increase in tension.
We've still got four episodes to go as of writing, with Robin Hood being released on a weekly basis. I have it on good authority that the finale is going to be explosive, so be quick.
