  • Masters of the Universe has an end-credits scene that'll delight franchise fans
  • It marks the long-overdue live-action debut for one of its most popular characters
  • Director Travis Knight already knows what story he wants to tell about them

Masters of the Universe is out now in theaters worldwide — and this new Amazon movie has an after-credits scene that'll delight fans of the sci-fi fantasy franchise.

The brief scene teases a long-overdue live-action film starring one of the Mattel-owned property's enduringly popular characters. And, if that wasn't enough to set tongues wagging among the He-Man-fronted franchise's fanbase, the film's director Travis Knight "already has ideas" about what story he'd like to tell about said character.

This is your one and only warning: full spoilers immediately follow for Masters of the Universe's post-credits scene. If you haven't seen it yet: bookmark this page, read my Masters of the Universe review, go watch it, and then reload this article to read on worry-free.

So, who is the individual teased in the post-credits scene of one of 2026's new movies? That'll be She-Ra, aka the long-lost twin sister of Adam/He-Man.

We don't see her face in said scene, nor is anybody credited with playing her. However, UK actor Lauren Saliu confirmed via Instagram (NB: the post is no longer live) that she portrayed the Eternian princess, though it's unclear if she'll officially play She-Ra in the future or is simply a stand-in for this clip.

Real name Adora, She-Ra possesses the same superhuman abilities that her sibling does. She-Ra also wields her own mystical blade called the Sword of Protection, and has an animal companion — Spirit the horse — who, like He-Man's Cringer/Battle-Cat, transforms into a battle-ready creature called Swift Wind when Adora becomes She-Ra.

Unlike her fellow Eternian, though, She-Ra has never appeared, let alone starred, in a live-action movie. Until now, she's only in two animated series: 1985's She-Ra: Princess of Power and, more recently, the incredibly well-received TV anime She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, which ran on Netflix for five seasons between 2018 and 2020.

Her cameo in Masters of the Universe's end-credits scene, then, is a landmark moment because it implies that She-Ra could not only make her live-action debut in due course, but also appear on the big screen for the very first time.

Whether she will, though, depends on Masters of the Universe's performance at the global box office. Do well enough or even exceed expectations, and Amazon MGM Studios would be silly not to greenlight a sequel starring He-Man and She-Ra, or even a standalone Adora-led adventure.

Regardless of which of those options gets the go-ahead, Knight has a vision for the kind of story involving She-Ra that he'd like to tell. However, he's also fully aware that, if Masters of the Universe fails to make a splash, an Adora-led film may never get made — hence why she wasn't part of this movie's ensemble and a famous actor wasn't officially cast to play her in this short appearance.

"With every movie that I've ever made, I've always imagined where the characters go outside kind of the bounds of the movie," Knight told me. "You want to tell a self-contained story, and I think we've done that with this movie, but there are things within the wider mythology that didn't fit within that, and the She-Ra character was one of them.

"Adora is also a character that carries a lot of weight with her," Knight continued. "A lot of people, myself included, love that character, so we wanted to give a little nod to where that [a She-Ra movie] could go if we were given the opportunity to tell more stories.

"I would love to see her come to life on the big screen and I have ideas on how that would go," he added. "But, if we never got a chance to do that, we've told a self-contained story that works here."
