9 new Apple TV+ movies and shows to watch in October 2025

Apple TV+ has an intriguing mix of new movies and shows arriving throughout October 2025, including two documentaries film fans won't want to miss – one about a filmmaking legend, and another that’s an intimate portrait of the life of one of Hollywood’s biggest comedy stars.
This month's new releases will be joined by new episodes from Invasion season 3, Slow Horses season 5, The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy and The Morning Show season 4. Notably, the crime thriller series The Savant, which had been scheduled to be released alongside five new Apple TV+ movies and shows in September is still postponed, so we don't yet know if or when that might premiere.
For the full list of new Apple TV+ arrivals in October 2025, see below – and make sure to let us know in the comments which movie or show you'll be starting with on one of the best streaming services once you've finished compiling your watchlist.
The Lost Bus
Director: Paul Greengrass
Run time: 2 hours and 9 minutes
Arriving on: October 3
This month's big Apple TV+ movie is a harrowing disaster flick based on a heroic true story about Kevin McKay, a bus driver who saved 22 children from the devastating 2018 Camp Fire that raged for 18-days in California.
The Lost Bus sees Matthew McConaughey star as McKay, alongside America Ferrera who plays Mary Ludwig, one of the two school teachers who were on the bus, in a heart-stopping thrill ride. It sounds a lot like a fiery take on the 90s action classic Speed, but with an authenticity that is bound to make it a tense watch.

It's taken 20 years, but Michael Buckley's The Sisters Grimm – a popular children's books series that was originally conceived as a TV pitch, according to an interview with the author – is finally a six-part TV show.
This looks like a great adaptation for the little ones in the family. It's about two sisters, who are descended from the Brothers Grimm, that get sent to live with their grandmother in a mysterious town filled with characters from all our favorite fairy tales, from the Golden Goose to Hansel and Gretel.

It opens in a similar vein to Con Air, as a plane filled with prisoners crash-lands in the wilds of Alaska, and quickly turns into a wildly violent manhunt that threatens the safety of a small and isolated community. With the FBI looking for one of the inmates in particular, a lone US marshal senses foul play – but is he right? Can he protect the town? We'll have to watch to find out.
