The final full weekend of April 2026 is upon us — and the world's best streaming services are seeing out the month with a plethora of new movies and shows for you to watch at your leisure.

Stranger Things: Tales From 85 (Netflix)
Only four months have passed since Stranger Things' divisive fifth and final season, but Netflix is already taking us on another Hawkins-based adventure with the franchise's second spin-off.

Even though Timothée Chalamet missed out on this yea's Best Actor Academy Award, Marty Supreme remains one of the best movies of 2025. In the sports drama that's out now on HBO Max, Chalamet plays table tennis player Marty Mauser and his ruthless, high-stakes rise to become a world champion.
Josh Safdie's latest feature is like bottled lightning, moving at an electric pace with a sense of dynamism that's never lost through its 149 minute runtime. Apex (Netflix)
Charlize Theron and Taron Egerton lead the cast of this new survival thriller, which stands out among its genre peers because the antagonist here is very much human. Is that scarier than a wild animal? You decide.
Here, Egerton plays scary local man Ben, who's hellbent on hunting down Theron's Sasha, a rock climber who wanted to push herself to the limits in the Australian wilderness following a traumatic period in her life.

Criminal Record season 2 (Apple TV)
Apple TV's crime thriller Criminal Record is back for another round, with Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo returning as an unlikely crime-solving duo Hegarty and Lenker.
We've already been wowed by their performances as a seasoned veteran and newbie detective, and now we get to witness another dramatic case unfold while their personalities clash once more. Some things never change.
This time, a young man is stabbed to death at a political rally, forcing Hegarty and Lenker into an uneasy alliance. But, what looks like a murder case soon escalates into something far bigger. I'm already on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what that is in the Apple show's latest chapter. — LB
Half Man (HBO Max/BBC iPlayer)
Two years after his award-winning global smash hit Baby Reindeer, Richard Gadd is back with Half Man, which follows brothers Niall (Jamie Bell) and Ruben (Gadd) through 30 years of their lives, exploring why their relationship is so toxic.
Gadd's commitment to warts-and-all storytelling that will undoubtedly make Half Man one of the standout TV shows of 2026 (read my Half Man review to find out more). No matter what he represents to us, no matter what we already think we know, we're metaphorically punched in the gut until we can no longer bear to look. — JV
Kevin (Prime Video)
If you're a fan of adult animation, you won't want to miss Prime Video's new comedy Kevin. Jason Schwartzman voices the titular character, a neurotic tuxedo cat exploring life on his own after his owners break up.
Schwartzman is joined by a stellar voice cast including Aubrey Plaza (also the series co-creator), John Waters, Whoopi Goldberg, Addison Rae, and Amy Sedaris. All eight episodes are available to watch now, so what are you waiting for? After the multitude of heavy entries on our list this week, you might be in need of a laugh. — LB
Regretting You (Paramount+)
The Colleen Hoover Cinematic Universe (CHCU) expands after It Ends With Us with follow-up adaptation Regretting You. Starring McKenna Grace and Mason Thames, the movie, which is out now on Paramount+, follows a devastating accident that reveals a shocking betrayal.
It's honestly incredible how what should be a hugely traumatizing loss develops into young love, but hey, that's the magic of romcom movies. Regretting You has Hoover's signature blend of cheese and melodrama, and Grace shines throughout. — JV
