This underrated Dyson vacuum is the best bargain of the Cyber Monday sales

Of all the Dyson vacuums, the V12 Detect Slim might be the most underrated. I think it deserves some more love, and especially this Cyber Monday, with a $330 discount, taking the price down to $399.99 at Dyson US (was $729.99).

The V12 launched alongside the V15, and it was the latter that was the flagship and the one that got all the fanfare at the time. But here's the thing: the V12 has pretty much all the same cool features as the V15, just in a smaller and lighter package that's perfect for smaller homes. Oh, and it's significantly cheaper, too, even at full price.

I rate it the best Dyson vacuum for small homes, and it's up there with some of the best cordless vacuums we've reviewed, too. The only thing it really has going against it is that the dust cup is small, which means I wouldn't recommend it to those with larger homes and/or shedding pets – I've included some alternatives further down the page if that's you. Now, let's take a closer look at the V12 Detect Slim deal.

Dyson V12 Detect Slim
Dyson V12 Detect Slim: was $729.99 now $399.99 at Dyson Inc.

The V12 Detect Slim has a massive $330 off at Dyson for Cyber Monday. It's lightweight yet powerful (with 150AW of suction) and packed with the kind of tech that's usually reserved for much pricier, flagship Dyson vacuums. With this discount it's down to its lowest-ever price, and it's my hot pick of the sales.

What kind of cool features can you expect from the Dyson V12 Detect Slim? I'm talking about a sensor that not only detects dust and automatically adjusts suction to clear it, but reports back on the size and number of particles it's sucking up, as it does so, via a colorful moving bar graph on the vacuum's screen. I'm talking about a separate, soft cleaner head for hard floors, which is equipped with a bright laser to highlight the tiniest specks of dust. Oh, and of course, I'm talking about a nimble, powerful vacuum that pivots like a dream.

My teammate tested this model and agrees with me that the V12 is criminally underrated. You can read all about how she got on with this machine in TechRadar's in-depth Dyson V12 Detect Slim review.
