It can also switch between carpet and hard floor modes and even handles cobwebs without changing floorheads. Plus, its self-cleaning brushroll promises to easily suck up hair (human and pet) without tangling, and it comes with a 2-year warranty.

As mentioned above, while the Shark IZ102 was our long-held pick for the best budget stick vacuum cleaner, that crown now sits on the Dreame U20's head. Usually retailing for AU$399, the latter is also discounted by 50% on Amazon right now – down to just AU$199. The biggest difference between the two is their weight, with Dreame's offering coming in at more than 2KG heavier than Shark's. However, some of that’s down to having a bigger battery that means it will also last 20 minutes longer.
