Google has leaked its next lineup of Nest Cams and Doorbells with Gemini, and they’re already appearing in stores

• New Google Nest Cams and Nest Doorbells have started appearing in stores, as well as in the Google Home app
• It's likely that these will be the next line of Nest devices to be announced at Google's upcoming event, which will take place on October 1
• There's been no sign of a new Nest smart speaker, so it's likely that this won't be unveiled until the event

It’s been a while since Google upgraded its range of home security cameras and video doorbells (4 years to be exact), but its new Nest Camera and Nest Doorbell models are unexpectedly cropping up in stores – despite being tipped for an October 1 launch.

Three new devices have been spotted by a user on Reddit (see below), who came across Google’s new smart home products at a Home Depot store. This included the Nest Cam Outdoor, Nest Cam Indoor, and Nest Doorbell in two different colors.

While there seems to be no major design upgrade with the new series, the packaging suggests that one of the biggest upgrades will be the addition of 2K video resolution, but the landmark upgrade will be the Nest Cam and Nest Doorbell’s integration with Google Gemini.

As far as pricing goes, we don’t know what price range the next Nest Cam and Doorbell will fall into, however it’s unlikely that the price tags shown in the Reddit post above refer to the new devices according to 9to5Google. But as well as the new Home Depot stock, these new devices have also been leaked in the Google Home app.

Android Authority spotted mentions of the new Nest products in the latest version of the app, which adds to our certainty that they will be unveiled at Google’s hardware event on October 1. In the images below, the new generation of Nest Cams have been found in the setup process, as well as mentions of the new Nest Doorbell – but there’s been no sight of a new smart speaker.

One of the devices expected to make a grand appearance on October 1 is the new Google smart speaker, which hasn’t been revamped since the Google Nest Audio came on the scene in 2020. Though the next generation of Google smart speakers hasn’t been spotted in stores alongside its new Nest family members, Google teased it very briefly during its Made by Google event in August when it shared that Gemini is coming to all Google smart home products.

Google has been teasing its new smart home era since it began phasing out Google Assistant on smart displays and speakers. In addition to the announcement of Gemini for Home – which will be available to early access users on launch day – we're pretty confident that we'll finally have new Nest hardware. Therefore, we’ll be on the lookout for any more announcements or leaks as we get closer to the launch date.
