Sometimes, it feels good to follow the crowd. After seeing the Salomon XT-6 trail shoe in its natural habitat (Shoreditch coffee shops) seemingly every week over the past year, I caved to conformity and bought my own pair a few months ago. And now, thanks to early Black Friday sales at Size, Footpatrol, and Working Class Heroes, I’ve gone ahead and bought a second pair.

I’m based in London, but a recent visit to New York City confirmed that Americans, too, are easily swayed by the latest fashion trends. And good news! Salomon XT-6 sales are also happening at Lyst and West NYC on that side of the pond.

Jokes aside, the Salomon XT-6 are genuinely excellent trail shoes that deserve to touch the Great Outdoors. Just look at the technology built into them: there’s a contaGRIP outsole for traction, a dual-density EVA midsole for support, sensiFIT for hold, and Salomon’s signature quickLACE system for easy adjustability.

Is some of that marketing mumbo jumbo? Absolutely. But I can promise you that these particular Salomons are comfortable, practical, and easy to clean. They’re also, as it happens, perfect for Shoreditch coffee runs.

Today's best Salomon XT-6 deals

Salomon XT-6
Save 28%
Salomon XT-6 : was $179.95 now $129.99 at westnyc.com

The best Salomon XT-6 deal currently available in the US is West NYC's $129.99 price on the Chinchilla colorway, but discounts are also available on the more popular White variant. If neither takes your fancy, Lyst is offering a suite of deals on special edition XT-6 models like the XT-6 Expanse and XT-6 Whisper.

Save 45%
Salomon XT-6 : was £165 now £90 at footpatrol.com

In the UK, you'll find XT-6 deals at Size and Working Class Heroes, but Footpatrol's £90 offer on the Orange pair is currently the best of the lot. The Black, Lilac, and Pink models are also on sale at the same retailer, while Footpatrol is offering smaller discounts on the GTX (Gore-Tex) version of the shoe.

It's worth noting that the Salomon XT-6 are not designed for running (if you're a keen jogger, check out our guide to the best running shoes). Instead, they're trail shoes, which means they're designed for traversing natural terrain like dirt paths and rocks.

You'll also notice that the XT-6 are available in a more expensive GTX (Gore-Tex) variant. This is the model to go for if you regularly encounter heavy rain or large puddles on your adventures, though Gore-Tex is slightly less breathable than the lining in the regular shoe. So, if you're buying the XT-6 for fashion (there's no shame in it!), I'd recommend picking up non-Gore-Tex version.
