VPN deal of the week: CyberGhost is the cheapest I've ever seen it — nearly $2/month cheaper than NordVPN

CyberGhost continues to offer one of its best deals while other VPNs raise their prices. You can get a 2-year subscription for $1.59 per month with two months extra — that's $41.34 for 26 months of protection.

Surfshark's recent price jump means plans now cost at least $67.23, $25 more than CyberGhost. Despite this, both VPNs offer more than 100 locations, deliver strong speeds over WireGuard, and have proven solid streaming VPNs.

CyberGhost was around 400 Mbps faster than Surfshark over WireGuard in our most recent tests and it also proved more consistent when streaming Netflix throughout our testing.

Where CyberGhost falls short is its device limit. Surfshark offers unlimited simultaneous connections. CyberGhost? 7.

This means that if you're trying to secure your entire family you'll likely run out of connections pretty quickly. You can fix this by setting up CyberGhost as a router VPN, but if you're new to VPNs entirely, this is a complex way to start.

Thankfully, if you want to test it out, you get longer to decide than with almost any other VPN. CyberGhost's 45-day money-back guarantee is only bested by Norton's 60-day guarantee. None of the best VPNs offer anywhere close to this, instead giving you only 30 days to decide.

CyberGhost is known for its reliable performance and its frequent use in restricted regions. Now it's more affordable than most of the best VPNs by a noticeable margin. If you can handle its 7-device connection limit, you'll rarely struggle, plus you get 45 days to decide whether it's right for you.

What's the catch?

Aside from the mere 7 connections, there's one other noticeable drawback to CyberGhost — it's got almost no guidance for beginners.

Loading it up on Android, you'll notice no explanations and no guidance on how to use it. If you're looking for a beginner VPN, Surfshark or Proton VPN will be far superior.

These VPNs have extensive help catalogues, explainers across almost every feature, and quick access to support.

It's also worth noting that, unlike VPNs such as NordVPN or Surfshark, there's no additional security features.

CyberGhost's one plan is purely VPN-focused. While you can add other tools for an extra fee, you might be better off choosing a different cheap VPN that gives you access as standard.
