To celebrate the upcoming release of Zach Cregger's Resident Evil on September 18, I thought it would be fun to look back on some of the franchise's previous movies with a quiz.

It's important to note that Cregger's take on Resident Evil will be different from what we've seen before. The new movie is considered to be a reboot and is set during alternate events of Resident Evil 2, centering on a medical courier named Bryan.

During an IGN trailer breakdown, Cregger explained: "This movie takes place alongside the events of Resident Evil 2. I like to think that everything going on inside the police station could be going on in this world; it's just another dude, on another mission on the other side of town."

But while we wait to learn more about Bryan's experience in Raccoon City, let's put your knowledge of the previous movies to the test. How well do you know the Umbrella Corporation and its detractors?

How did you do? Let us know your score in the comments, and don't forget to check out more Resident Evil news, such as the upcoming remake of Resident Evil: Veronica.

It seems like this franchise is expanding rapidly, and before long we'll be settling in for Cregger's take on Capcom's beloved universe. But how will it compare to Weapons, which I gave a five-star review to? Only time will tell.
