Happy Thanksgiving weekend, US readers! And, for those who live elsewhere, congratulations on making it through another week.

If you're not spending the next few days in front of your computer or phone, or visiting a shop for seven, for the best Black Friday 2025 deals, you should be relaxing in front of your TV. With a host of new movies and TV shows arriving over the last few days, there's plenty to choose from, too.

It's the beginning of the end for Stranger Things – well, the supernatural sci-fi franchise's main show. Indeed, Stranger Things 5 brings down the curtain on one of the best Netflix shows of all-time. And, with season 5 volume 1, which comprises the first four episodes, out now on the streaming titan, the countdown to its epic and highly emotional end is in full swing.

I've been a big fan of the series since its debut season dropped nine years ago, so I'm not ready to say goodbye to it just yet. With four more episodes still to come in a month's time, though, it won't be long until this TV juggernaut's final end credits roll for good. Time to start stocking up on tissues, I say. *sniff* – TP

Surprise! There's a heartfelt follow-up to Chris Hemsworth's Live Better Now docuseries with A Roadtrip to Remember. It does exactly what its titled suggest,, with the Marvel actor taking his dad Craig, who has Alzheimer's, on a memory-filled trip across Australia.

If you've watched Live Better Now, you'll know Hemsworth has been exploring ways to prolong cognitive function (or at least make them healthier) for some time. Here, though, we're getting a mix of science and sadness, confronting head-on the possibility of letting go of a parent.

Is it the cheeriest watch on Hulu and Disney+? No, but it's not without its laughs and tender moments. If anything, it's life-affirming, and that's way more important in my eyes. – Jasmine Valentine, entertainment reporter

It's Florida, Man season 2 (HBO Max)

You may be familiar with the Florida Man trend, and this HBO Max TV Original points fun at the weird and wonderful tales from the state of Florida. The first season went down well and now the anthology is back for another round.

Once again, It's Florida, Man season 2 features candid stories from everyday Floridians that are playfully re-created by a rotating cast of actors and comedians, and you won't believe your eyes at some of the situations that go down. Additionally, you'll see some great guest stars like Tiffany Haddish, Haley Joel Osment, Johnny Knoxville, Taika Waititi, and Rita Ora. – Lucy Buglass, senior entertainment writer

New Netflix movies have taken on that unmistakable tinsel shine, so it's no surprise that we have another new entry in the festive films playlist this week with Jingle Bell Heist.

Set in London during the holidays, it sees Olivia Holt's retail worker and Connor Swindells' repairman team up to pull off a department store robbery, but will they steal each other's heart instead? You can probably already guess where this is heading...

Part crime caper, part seasonal rom-com, this isn’t in the same league as something like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, but if you want an easy festive watch, then Netflix has you covered. – Amelia Schwanke, senior entertainment editor

Finally, the Woolly Mammoth has its chance to shine on the small screen (if you discount Ice Age). The latest addition to Apple's Prehistoric Planet TV series has jumped forward in time by around 133 million years. That's not the only change, too, as Tom Hiddleston has taken the place of David Attenborough as its off-camera narrator.

If you can get past that crushing loss, it's absolutely incredible to see the similarities between wildlife then and now. In simple terms, think about some of the animals we have now, and triple the size.

What's most impressive is the craft itself. Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age is made up of real-life locations, puppeteering and CGI. In a world where AI is becoming king, that's pretty darn special in itself Stream it now on Apple TV. – JV

Here comes a restored and remastered version of the best Beatles docuseries ever made! The 1995 multimedia project has long been hailed as the most comprehensive look at The Fab Four – largely because the story is told in the band’s own words.

Now, The Beatles Anthology has become an even more expansive experience, extending the original eight-hour series to more than 11 hours with a brand-new ninth episode. This adds behind-the-scenes footage of Paul, George ,and Ringo reuniting to work on the original project, alongside newly recorded interviews and other previously untold stories.
