I already own two Meta Quest 3S headsets, but a Prime Day deal like this might convince me to buy a third

It might not have had much screen time at Meta Connect 2025, but I haven’t forgotten about the Meta Quest 3S, and neither have stores, because the VR headset is currently on sale – it’s down to $249 at Walmart, saving you $50.

This year's Amazon Prime Day deals (even if they aren't at Amazon) won’t just get you the VR headset, you'll also get a free copy of Batman: Arkham Shadow – one of the best VR games ever made – and a three-month trial of Meta Horizon+ (a Netflix style catalogue of VR games).

There was a deal available in the UK, and while it wasn't the best discount we've seen it has also gone for now.

The Meta Quest 3S is the second-best VR headset in the world – losing out only to the Meta Quest 3 proper.

This duo is more similar than different. They boast the same software and identical chipsets, the same 8GB of RAM, and an almost identical weight – the Quest 3S may be bigger, but it’s a tad lighter.

The main difference is their optics. The Meta Quest 3 boasts a wider field of view and relies on slimmer pancake lenses, which aren’t just more trim, they produce much less blurring at the fringes of the image compared to the fresnel lenses the Quest 3S uses. The regular model also has a higher screen resolution – boasting a 2064 x 2208 pixels per eye dual-display setup instead of a 1832 x 1920 per eye single display setup.

At the same time, the Quest 3S is significantly cheaper – especially with this Prime Day deal.

So if you’re looking to dip your toes into what VR has to offer, or you’re looking to get a headset for someone you’re not sure you can trust with a more expensive gadget, then the Meta Quest 3S is the ideal choice for you.
