Forget Prime Day — one of the best coffee makers I've ever tested is half price right now, and anyone can grab it
Looking for a great coffee maker this Amazon Prime Day? Look no further — one of my all-time favorite espresso machines is half price, and you don't even need to be a Prime subscriber to get it. Right now, you can grab the superb Philips Baristina for just £225.99 (was £449.99) at Amazon — a price cut that's too good to miss.

So why the price crash? Well, I suspect it has something to do with the Philips Baristina Latte, which launched a few days ago. The new addition has all the same features as the original Baristina, plus an integrated automatic milk frother for preparing creamy lattes and airy cappuccinos. It's available now for $499.99 from Target, but if you're mostly interested in espresso, the original Baristina is the one for you.
The Baristina is a compact coffee maker that makes brewing delicious espresso effortless, and it's half price at Amazon. It was already one of the cheapest bean-to-cup machines around, so this deal is frankly amazing.

What I love about the Baristina is the way it combines the best features of automatic and manual coffee makers. It handles all the work of weighing out the correct dose of coffee, grinding it, tamping it down, and then pulling a shot, but because this doesn't happen inside an enclosed case, cleanup is a piece of cake.
Fully automatic coffee makers can get gross inside, with moisture and stray coffee grounds making a nice home for bacterial and mold. Here, however, you only need to wash out the portafilter basket, keep the drip tray clean, and run a bit of hot water through the groupset after brewing.
I admit that I'm also charmed by the way the Baristina automatically slides the portafilter handle underneath the brewing group once the coffee has been ground and tamped. And, of course, the resulting coffee is delicious as well. Take a look at my full Philips Baristina review for more details.

$80 off a top-notch Nespresso machine? Don't mind if I do! This deal applies to the Vertuo Next in stylish gray or navy blue. It dropped to $90 yesterday though, so it might be worth holding out until Friday to see if it goes back down again.
