Amazon slashes the original Blink Mini to a ridiculously low £10
You could even buy a few at this price – if you're OK with the compromises
With the deal I've just spotted, there's never been a better time to pick up your first home security camera. That's because you can snap up the Blink Mini at Amazon for just £9.99 (was £21.99).
This isn't the latest generation model of this popular camera, but at this price, I think it's a bit of a no-brainer. Hey, why not buy a few and dot them around your house for the additional layer of security this holiday season?
This first-gen version lacks colour night vision, can't be used outdoors, and only has basic motion detection – as opposed to full person detection. If those features are important to you, then you'll need to continue your search and perhaps consider the newer Blink Mini 2 instead. But, if it's a basic video camera that you're after, then I'd say snap up one or more of these while they're so cheap.
Today's best Blink Mini deal
The Blink Mini is an indoor security camera that adds a layer of protection to your house and helps you keep an eye on your pets while you're out and about. With 1080p HD resolution, motion detection, two-way audio, easy setup, and Alexa compatibility, you're getting everything you could ever ask for from a basic camera. Just be aware that clip sharing and storage are only available through a Blink Subscription with an additional fee.
We only gave the Blink Mini 3.5 stars in our review, but that was on account of the lack of local storage and that there's no person detection. If the first of these is important to you, then you could buy an additional sync module or sign up for a Blink subscription.
Blink Basic (which supports one device) costs £2.50 per month or £24.99 per year, while Blink Plus (for multiple devices) is £8 per month or £80 per year.
More positively, we found the Blink Mini to be a "sturdy, attractive, and simplistic home security camera that offers crisp, Full HD video along with solid night vision performance and a comprehensive app." It might be cheap and cheerful, but it'll get the job done.
