I recently tested its big brother, the Philips LatteGo 5500 Series, and was impressed by how well it performs, particularly for its price. The key difference between the two machines is that this model only prepares hot drinks, not cold ones.

Both the grinder and pump are surprisingly quiet, and it brews excellent espresso time after time. With over $100 off, it's a great deal. You could easily pay twice as much for an espresso machine that's not as good.

Another espresso machine that received our maximum score of five stars, the De'Longhi Rivelia features the company's proprietary BeanAdapt system to optimize brew settings, plus a top-notch milk frothing system.
