You’re probably already considering what you intend to achieve in 2026. Naturally, many people are thinking of health and fitness goals, and a smartwatch is perfect for helping you see tangible improvements. Today, you can buy the Apple Watch SE 2 at Walmart for $129 (was $169.99). This may not be the latest Apple Watch any more, but it’s an incredible price for such a well-regarded brand and a reliable device.

The Apple Watch SE 2 is good for most people with some excellent fitness and safety features, a great battery life, and a comfy build and design. It’s the watch I would recommend to any friends looking to track their runs, workouts, or simply how many steps they take each day.

The Apple Watch SE 2 has all the essentials you need for providing you with motivation in your active goals. You can track your runs and strength workouts, along with many others as varied as yoga to contact sports. It also provides notifications for irregular heart rhythm or low and high heart rates, while you can easily use it to reply to your messages without grabbing your phone. It looks good on your wrist too.

I’m a big fan of the best Apple Watches. At heart, I know Garmins are better for battery life and providing me with detailed running stats, but the Apple Watch range always looks so nice and is so simple to use. As our Apple Watch SE 2 review explains: “Apple’s cheaper smartwatch is all most people will need, with some great fitness and safety features."

It’s even more of a bargain while it’s on sale, truly being one of the least expensive options among the best cheap smartwatches. That’s because the Apple Watch SE 3 exists, but when you look at the differences between the Apple Watch SE 2 and SE 3, you’ll see it’s worth going slightly older to save to serious cash.

It has excellent “mid-tier fitness tracking”, car crash detection, and it’s “very snappy and slick.” Just be aware there’s no always-on screen or ECG, and you won’t be disappointed. For anyone who can’t afford one of the best smartwatches, which are much more expensive, the Apple Watch SE 2 is a great starting point, especially if you’re not sure if a smartwatch is truly for you.

If your budget can stretch further, take a look at the other Apple Watch deals. If you’re serious about hiking or running, I’d strongly suggest one of the Garmin deals available with specific features designed for more off-grid exploration.
