If you're looking for a new laptop this Black Friday, there's arguably only one choice: the latest MacBook Air 13-inch, featuring the M4 chip from Apple.

Forget iPhones and AirPods; this fantastic piece of hardware is one of the best products Apple has ever produced, earning the current number one spot in our ranking of the best laptops. And despite being the latest model, it's already reduced by a respectable 25% as we approach Black Friday, marking the cheapest it's ever been. It's down to $749 (was $999) at Amazon right now.

The latest MacBook Air is a fantastic place to start for most users. Outwardly similar to the previous model, the M4 nonetheless features the latest (and most powerful) chipset alongside a reduced MSRP of $999. Even without any deals, this one is a bargain, and the fact that it's been as low as $749 in recent months makes it an almost must-buy in terms of MacBook deals.

Now, it's possible that the discounts on the M4 MacBook Air are so impressive specifically because Apple has a shiny new M5 model in the works for sometime after Black Friday (my best guess would be January or February 2026, based on previous launch cadences) - but frankly, that's no reason to ignore this deal.

The M4 MacBook Air has reigned supreme in our best laptops ranking ever since its release, and for good reason: this is one powerhouse system crammed into a fantastically sleek and lightweight design. I'll admit don't even like macOS that much (I'm a born-and-bred Windows user), but even I can't deny the sheer value for money a deal like this offers. And because this model features Apple's own M4 chip, it's easily future-proof enough for anyone who considers a laptop a long-term investment. There's no danger of this laptop not supporting macOS for a long, long time - unlike the older Intel Macs that are now in danger of becoming expensive paperweights.
