Looking back on our listening habits for the past 12 months has become something of a tradition with Spotify Wrapped – and the annual streaming recap is now so popular that most other streaming services, including YouTube Music and Apple Music, now offer something similar for users.

However, while we know Spotify Wrapped 2025 is definitely coming, we don't know exactly when it's going to drop. We've done some detective work and looked at the Spotify Wrapped launch dates of years gone by to see if we can make a best guess about when it will appear.

This is the big question: when will Spotify Wrapped 2025 be released? You'll definitely know when it's happened – social media will be full of recaps – but Spotify doesn't reveal the launch date of Wrapped in advance, and it differs slightly each year.

We can get some clues from years gone by. Spotify Wrapped 2024 broke cover on Wednesday, December 4. Might we see Spotify Wrapped 2025 on Wednesday, December 3, 2025? Or perhaps Thursday, December 4? They look like the most likely candidates, based on recent history.

Looking further back, Wrapped 2023 appeared on Wednesday, November 29, and Wrapped 2022 showed up on Wednesday, November 30. Before that, we had Wrapped 2021 on Wednesday, December 1, and Wrapped 2020 on Tuesday, December 1.

So the past four years, we've seen Spotify Wrapped launch on a Wednesday near the start of December – suggesting November 26 or December 3 could be the big day this year. That's not based on any insider info, just what's happened in the past.

Something else we've seen in the past are teases from Spotify on social media, telling us what we can look forward to and hyping up anticipation around the yearly recap appearing for everyone inside their accounts.

At the time of writing, we haven't seen any of that, so presumably a launch for Spotify Wrapped isn't imminent. There is a landing page for Spotify Wrapped 2025 you can check out, but at the moment it only links back to the 2024 recap.

When does Spotify stop tracked for Wrapped?

Another common question people have about Spotify Wrapped is when the cut-off point is for listening stats. Are your late November rotations going to count towards your 2025 stats, or will they roll over to next year?

The rather annoying answer is that Spotify doesn't specifically say. Anecdotally, it looks as though the stats are gathered from January 1 up until the middle of November-ish, but no one has ever sat down and worked it out properly.

Perhaps the reason that Spotify doesn't tell us is so that it can spring the surprise of launching Wrapped more effectively. The only official comment we've ever seen on this suggests that tracking goes beyond the end of October, at least.

Otherwise, we're pretty much in the dark – perhaps you could take a close look at your own Spotify Wrapped 2025 data and see how much is included from the second half of November (which may be tricky, depending on how much you use the service).

Compiling a Wrapped for millions of users is a pretty challenging undertaking from a technical perspective, so stat tracking most likely stops a few days or even a few weeks before the recaps are launched to the world at large.

Whenever Spotify Wrapped 2025 appears, we will of course let you know here on TechRadar. According to the landing page, you'll get "a deeper look into your listening", your "listening highlights", and more besides.
