This ereader is 'the Kindle of your dreams in color' and it's just dropped to its lowest price since Black Friday

It may not be a Prime Day sale, but there’s an excellent offer on one of Amazon's best and latest ereaders right now. Today, you can buy the Kindle Colorsoft at Amazon for £174 (was £239.99) – a £66 saving on the usual price. That makes it just £10 more than it was over Black Friday, so this is a considerable saving and one of the best Kindle deals outside of a major sales event.

The Kindle Colorsoft hasn’t seen many discounts since its launch. Usually, it sticks around its full price with only occasional dips during key sales. With no other sales periods for a while, this is almost certainly the cheapest it’s going to be for a few months.

We referred to the Kindle Colorsoft as “the Kindle of your dreams in color” which is high praise indeed. Its seven-inch Colorsoft display is the highlight, but you also get great battery life, waterproofing, and an adjustable backlight. It’s the ultimate Kindle for avid readers right now.

The Kindle Colorsoft is a fantastic upgrade for the Kindle family and an even better buy at this price. You get a seven-inch Colorsoft display, which is high contrast and easy on your eyes. It offers paper-like visuals, the ability to highlight text in different colours, and adjust the display to read in bright sunlight or in the dark. Its battery life lasts up to eight weeks, so it’s a nice, low-hassle solution for all of your reading needs.

Our Kindle Colorsoft review gave it a strong four and a half stars out of five. We loved its “speedy refresh and zooming” and described it as changing “the way we see Kindle forever.”

Granted, you may not need a colour screen unless you read a lot of graphic novels, but this is still one of the best Kindles around. It provides better performance compared to previous models with smooth zooming and “fast performance on E Ink,” which keeps it ahead of many of the best ereaders.

As a Kindle Paperwhite owner, I suspect the upgrade would be fairly incremental. However, if you’ve never owned a Kindle before, or you own an old model, this could be the one for you if you want the best of what the ereader range has to offer.

If you’d prefer a device that also plays games and lets you browse social media, take a look at the iPad deals also available today. You’ll be more easily distracted while you read, but it does offer more functionality.
