I'm a DJI expert, and this incredible DJI Mini 4 Pro price cut is my top Black Friday drone deal pick

Yes it has recently been supplanted by the Mini 5 Pro as DJI's flagship mini drone, but the DJI Mini 4 Pro is the best drone deal in the UK right now, with three bundles all available for record-low prices.

Let's start with the base package with RC-N2 controller for just £519 at Amazon (was £689). Or how about upgrading to the bundle with the stunning RC-2 controller which features a screen? Yours for £555 at Amazon (was £869). Finally, the ultimate package is the Fly More Combo for just £699 at Amazon (was £979) – this bundle includes the premium RC-2 controller plus a charging hub and two additional batteries.

I can't say I'm surprised by the price drop given that the excellent Mini 5 Pro is now on the scene. However, I still completely recommend the Mini 4 Pro, especially since it now costs so much less than the latest model – the Mini 5 Pro currently starts at £687 at Amazon. After all, the two mini drones share many of the same specs and you might not need the latest features.

DJI Mini 4 Pro Fly More Combo
DJI Mini 4 Pro Fly More Combo: was £979 now £699 at Amazon

These aren't the first price reductions for the Mini 4 Pro, but they are the biggest – the previously low for the Fly More Combo was £759, while over the recent Prime Day Big Deals event in October, the price was £779. However, the reduction for the RC-2 bundle is even lower, now available for £555 whereas the previous record low was £689. You'll just miss out on the charging hub and two additional batteries with this option versus the Fly More Combo – but if you're a casual pilot then that might not matter.

DJI Mini 4 Pro DJI RC 2 smart controller

The Mini 4 Pro can be purchased with the screen-less RC-N2 controller, but I prefer the pricier premium RC-2 controller above, which features a screen. Make sure which controller you are getting with the drone – not all deals are equal! (Image credit: James Abbott)

Should you buy the Mini 4 Pro over the Mini 5 Pro?

OK, so the Mini 5 Pro is my fave drone and the best DJI drove overall, but there are no deals for the new model, which costs around 25% more than the Mini 4 Pro at these sale prices.

And the two mini drones aren't all that different – both shoot 4K video with up to 4x slow motion and the option for DJI's detail rich D Log M color profile. Both offer ActiveTrack 360 for smart subject tracking and flight times are pretty similar – just a 5% advantage to the new model.

Crucially, the Mini 4 Pro also has the key feature I'd recommend beginner pilots – omnidirectional object sensing. Yes, the Mini 5 Pro has a larger 1-inch sensor and a greater range of roll rotation movement (now 225 degrees), more built-in memory and quicker flight speeds, but the Mini 4 Pro remains a super powerful sub-250g drone. This is a fantastic deal.
