I saved 50% on an iced coffee maker this Prime Day, and it just arrived — as a Starbucks fiend, I wholeheartedly recommend this cheap home solution
Starbucks? More like save-some-bucks
I did something out of character this year on Amazon Prime Day. On day one of the sales, I checked out my basket full of goodies; mostly household essentials that needed a top-up like my favorite shampoo, but also an impulse buy on a Breville Iced Coffee Maker so I can curb my spending on Starbucks iced coffee.

Usually, I wait a little longer, so the buyer's remorse hit fast, but it was all worth it in the end; I've used my new iced coffee maker twice now, saving me about £12 already on iced caramel lattes from Starbucks (give or take a little when you factor in home-ground coffee beans, milk and caramel syrup).
Considering it's at an almost record-low price of £21.99 (was £46.99), this single-serve gadget has almost paid for itself already, and it's going to be my top recommendation for those who have limited counter space but prefer caffeine of the cool variety. It comes with its own tumbler (of course, you can use any cup, but the giant one provided is great for slow sipping), a reusable coffee filter, and easy-to-follow instructions.

For the price of four Starbucks iced lattes, you can have cool caffeination at home in less than four minutes. It's not something we've personally tested, but with 2,000+ customer reviews on Amazon and a 4.3-star rating, it seems a pretty popular gadget. At almost its lowest-ever price (£17.97 in 2024), this is a steal.

We gave this clever coffee maker a full five stars in our review because it does absolutely everything — including making delicious cold-brew. No more messing around with mason jars in the fridge; just add cold water and coffee grounds, set the program, and wait. It makes hot filter coffee and espresso too.
Very has knocked a generous £100 off this superb little espresso machine in the UK, bringing it down to a record-low price. It's fantastic value, and would be perfect for your kitchen counter, or as a gift.

Really, the Breville Iced is basically a filter coffee machine that's optimised for iced coffees; the max water line and recommended coffee ground volume are set with a view to the brewed coffee being poured over ice in a tumbler below.
In theory, then, you can also use it as a cheap filter coffee machine; I've not tried it myself yet to see if the heat of the coffee or the distance between the tap and a standard mug or coffee pot would be prohibitive, but I imagine it'd do just fine. For £20, a small countertop footprint and a sizeable tumbler I can also use when I'm out and about, I'll take it.
