T-Mobile's Black Friday special on the iPhone 17 is exactly what I expected. Right now, you can get four iPhone 17 for free on an unlimited data plan without the usual trade-in criteria. By itself, that doesn't sound ground-breaking, but the real magic here is in the details. Plan eligibility for this deal includes the carrier's entry-level 'Essentials' plan, which comes out at just $100 per month for four lines. Yep, that means you can get four free iPhone 17 on four lines that average out at just $25/mo each.

Quite possibly the best T-Mobile deal of the entire year for single-line users. You can currently get the excellent iPhone 17 Pro for free with a trade-in and new unlimited line at the carrier, alongside the option to bundle in a free iPad and Apple Watch. You rarely see freebies like these at T-Mobile (unlike other carriers), but note that you do need to take out cellular lines on those accessories. So, even if they're free upfront, you're still paying extra per month on your plan.

And, if you prefer Android, then the good news is that you can get that exact same deal on the excellent Samsung Galaxy S25. That means four devices for free when you sign-up for a new unlimited data plan. Again, on the entry-level Essentials plan you're paying just $25/mo per month per line for four lines here. Note, if you want a higher-end device, then you can also get $800 off per device on the Galaxy S25 Ultra (doesn't make them free, but it does make them cheaper).

Google Pixel 10: free with a new line, plus free Pixel Buds 2a at T-Mobile
Here's a good deal for both switchers and existing customers. Both are eligible to get a free Google Pixel 10 right now with a new line on an Experience Beyond plan and the carrier is also throwing in a free pair of Pixel Buds 2a. Note that no trades are needed here, but that's still an option if you don't want to go for the higher-end Beyond plan.

The iPhone Air is the least popular device in the new range - perhaps, that's why this Black Friday T-Mobile deal is so good today. Right now, no trade-ins are needed at all to get this device (which is still valued $1,099) for free on a new unlimited data line at the carrier. Note, however, that this particular deal is exclusive to new customers.

In terms of outright value, T-Mobile deals on the Galaxy S25 Edge might just be the best on the carrier's site right now. No trade-ins are currently needed to get the device for free with a new line, and interestingly, this promotion is eligible on both the Beyond and Next plans. That means it's possible to get this device for free on a slightly cheaper plan without a trade right now.

For the first time in a few generations, we recommend the standard iPhone as 'the best iPhone for most people'. It's a little boring, a little safe, but we can't deny just how good value this particular iteration is. For once, the standard iPhone isn't really the poor relation with its crisp 6.3-inch display, excellent chipset, and healthy 256GB capacity. The only downside? It lacks a few of the higher-end camera features of the Pro devices.

If you're going big, then go all the way, we say. The latest iPhone 17 Pro Max is just an incredible device with a (somewhat) justified price tag. The device features the best iPhone cameras we've ever seen, a fresh design, a huge battery, and the astoundingly quick A19 chipset. It's the ultimate iPhone for sure, although you'll have to decide whether all these 'nice-to-haves' are worth the premium versus the standard model.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is big, heavy, and expensive - but what a device it is. Not only does the S25 Ultra feature an incredible chipset and some of the best cameras we've ever seen on a phone, but it has a stunning design that befits its asking price. Again, this is a really expensive device, but it's a great option for power-users - especially if you can line up a decent discount over Black Friday.
