Shark has just released a new personal misting fan that you can carry with you, clip onto your bike, use at the gym, or even wear for quick relief on hot days. The Shark ChillPill is battery-operated, and keeps you cool with high-speed airflow and 'dry-touch mist' that evaporates on contact with your skin for a quick cooling sensation.
It works on the same principle as the Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo — a cordless, carriable fan designed to be used indoors or out, which we awarded four stars out of five.
Like the FlexBreeze HydroGo, the ChillPill shift a lot of air for its size, and is assisted by two misting modes: consistent and interval. My colleague Ruth Hamilton has already experienced its cooling power in a hands-on demo, and found it very effective despite its compact size.
Article continues below"During my hands-on time I was impressed with the fan function — even though it's small, it packs a decent punch when it comes to airflow — and loved the idea of being able to mist myself on the go too," she said.

Her favorite feature, however, was the InstaChill cooling plate, which immediately lowers skin temperature when you want quick relief.
"It instantly dropped to an impressively chilly temperature, and holding it against pulse points (neck, wrists) was immediately refreshing," she said. "I can imagine it being absolutely dreamy during a heatwave, perhaps to use in cramped situations like a sweaty underground train."
The ChillPill is available to buy now direct from Shark for $149.99 in the US, or £129.99 in the UK. I'll be putting it to the test soon, and will bring you a full review once I've found out how it fares at home, in the office, and in particularly sweaty situations like a tough spin class.
