I remember my first-ever smartwatch. I was new to the concept and just wanted a simple watch to track my fitness activities and my health. If I were in the same position again today, I would be snapping up this Garmin Vivoactive 5 at Amazon for £153.44 (was £209.99).
The discount sees the four-star health and fitness smartwatch crash to its best price since Black Friday, but take note that one colourway is only for Prime members. The others are only slightly more expensive. Either way, we're big fans of its bright AMOLED screen, built-in GPS, music controls, and up to 11 days of battery life.
There are more powerful Garmin alternatives, such as the Vivoactive 6 (£270) and the Forerunner (£407), but both are significantly more expensive than the deal I'm highlighting today. So, if it's a great-performing smartwatch at a cracking price, I'd suggest this Vivoactive 5.
Today's best cheap Garmin deal
The Garmin Vivoactive 5 is a fantastic all-rounder fitness smartwatch with tonnes of workout plans, a crisp AMOLED display, onboard GPS, and 11 days of battery life. At this price, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better-performing watch for general fitness, health, and exercise tracking.
"The Garmin Vivoactive 5 offers more sports and health tracking metrics than most will need while staying compact and easy to see with that stunning AMOLED display." That's how we described the previous-gen smartwatch in our Garmin Vivoactive 5 review. As a result, we gave it a very respectable four-star rating.
Specifically, we praised the smartwatch's powerful health and sports tracking options, battery life, sleek design, and on-watch music streaming. We also love its compatibility for both Apple and Android users, which makes it a superb fit for all types of people, including runners, cyclists, and triathletes.
In terms of metrics, the Vivoactive excels in serving up accurate GPS and HR monitoring while also reporting on oxygen levels (Pulse OX) and Body Battery. This only scratches the surface of what the watch is capable of. Suffice to say, it delivers a very extensive set of stats.
Garmin makes some of the best running watches in the world right now, and this Vivoactive 5 deal is a great way to own your first ever Garmin. If you'd like a more general smartwatch, you'll want to check out our best smartwatch guide instead.
