The Labor Day sales are offering superb discounts on laptops this weekend, including a record-low price cut on one of the best models we've reviewed this year so far.

The deal in question is for the Dell 14 Plus, a superb mid-range model that's available for just $649 (was $1,099) at the official Dell store.

You can check out our Dell 14 Plus review if you're interested in a full run-down of this model, but in short, we think it's one of the best bang-for-the-buck Windows laptops money can buy. Alongside excellent performance and battery life, the 14 Plus also features a thin and light form factor that makes it a versatile productivity machine.

Today's deal at Dell cuts a whopping $450 off the entry-level configuration, which I'd say is the sweet spot for most users. Under the hood, you get not just a recent Ultra 7 chipset, but also 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, meaning a decent level of power and space for everyday tasks. While not suited for gaming, or heavy production tasks, if you simply need something that can reliably handle most everyday tasks on a budget, then this deal on the 14 Plus is a great choice.
