I've tested more than a hundred laptops and this is the Black Friday deal I'd recommend: the best-selling HP Omnibook X Flip is heavily discounted
Get yourself a cut-price Copilot+ laptop this Black Friday
Black Friday is upon us, and some big, fat deals are cropping up. There's no better time of year to pick up a new laptop. I've had my eagle eye on several strong Black Friday laptop deals – and I've just spotted another that's almost ridiculously good.
The HP Omnibook X Flip is currently on sale for just $429.99 (was $849.99) at Best Buy. That's an incredible price cut of almost 50% that I'd recommend to just about anyone searching for a new laptop. With a shiny new AMD Ryzen AI processor and a gorgeous 16-inch 2K touchscreen, this is the sort of laptop that could make you the envy of the office.
Shoppers in the UK can pick up the 14-inch model with an Intel Core Ultra 5 chip for an equally steep discount that's actually better than half price: just £499 (was £1,030) direct from the HP Store. You'll need to use the discount code BLACK100 to knock the price down to that figure from the listed £599 sale price, though.

It's not quite half price, but come on: 49.4% off is a serious discount for a new-release HP Omnibook. This laptop packs the latest AMD Ryzen AI processor for enabling Copilot+ features in Windows 11, along with 16GB of RAM and an excellent 2K touch display.

Display - 14-inch
Processor - Intel Core Ultra 5
RAM - 16GB
Storage - 512GB
This is an absolutely brilliant laptop deal that knocks a massive £531 off the 14-inch model of the Omnibook. Not only does it come with a cutting-edge Intel Core Ultra 5 CPU, but it also has 16GB of fast RAM, making it a brilliant performer for this price. You need to enter the voucher code BLACK100 to knock off £100 to get it to the £499 price point.
As the name suggests, the Omnibook can effortlessly 'flip' into tent or tablet mode thanks to the touch display and 360-degree hinge. The 16-inch model is ideal for anyone who likes to work on the go but doesn't want to sacrifice precious screen real estate by opting for a smaller laptop.
Considering the specs on offer here, I'm inclined to say that $430/£499 is a genuinely incredible price for this laptop. I'm fairly experienced with HP devices (my daily driver is a trusty old HP Spectre x360 from 2019, still going strong!), and historically my main criticism of them has been the price. Indeed, I'd say that $850 was a bit steep for the original asking price of the Omnibook X Flip, but a $420 price drop makes it significantly more appealing.
Plus, you're not just getting a capable Windows laptop here; the models I've featured above pack the latest AMD Ryzen AI and Intel Core Ultra chips (for the US and UK models respectively), both of which come with a dedicated 'neural processing unit' (NPU) for handling local AI workloads – a boon for anyone who wants to take full advantage of the Copilot+ suite in Windows 11. With 16GB of RAM to back it up, the Omnibook X Flip is also just a generally dependable laptop that should be able to handle all sorts of everyday office or school work with ease.
