Need a new gaming laptop for the new year? Whether you're trying your first gaming laptop or looking for an upgrade, you should consider the MSI Vector A16 at Walmart for $1,299 (was $1,999.99).

This particular MSI gaming laptop stands out because of the low price for the specs, especially the RTX 5070 Ti GPU with 12GB graphics memory. The RTX 5070 Ti is within the mid-range of Nvidia's RTX 50 graphics card series, but that's pretty powerful for something that costs this much. Usually, you'd only expect to find budget models with an RTX 5060 or similarly weaker hardware in this price range.

This MSI Vector A16 is the cheapest gaming laptop we've seen with the RTX 5070 Ti graphics card. It also comes with a well-rounded set of specs, including a 16-inch 240Hz QHD+ display, an AMD Ryzen 9 processor, 16GB of DDR5 memory, and a 1TB SSD for storage. Overall, it's the full package, giving you a mid-range gaming laptop for the price of a budget one.

We haven't reviewed the MSI Vector A16, but we did review its larger counterpart with similar specs. In our MSI Vector A18 review, we rated it four out of five stars for its performance and 4K gaming capabilities, even when playing demanding games.

Our review even considered it as a desktop replacement. However, it is a bit on the heavier side, even for the 16-inch version. The MSI Vector A18 that we tested had an RTX 5080, which is slightly stronger than the RTX 5070 Ti.

In addition to the RTX 5070, this MSI Vector A16 is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 9-8940HX processor with 16GB DDR5 memory and 1TB SSD for storing a generous library of games. It features a 16-inch 240Hz QHD+ display, perfect for capturing fine details in games where every movement matters, with 100% DCI-P3 color for improved brightness and contrast.

Not convinced? Well, the year just started, so there's plenty of time for bigger and better deals. For more laptops to add to your wish list, see our best gaming laptops and best budget gaming laptops.
