February isn’t typically a standout month for gaming laptop bargains, but Presidents’ Day sales are the big exception. Now the big day itself is here at last, retailers like Walmart and Best Buy are rolling out some surprisingly strong discounts on a wide range of machines.

After digging through hundreds of listings, I’d argue a few of these offers are competitive with - and in some cases close to - last year’s Black Friday pricing. That’s especially noteworthy given recent upward pressure on laptop costs due to the ongoing RAM shortage. In context, today's discounts are definitely better than expected if you're looking for a good value machine.

Graphics card: RTX 5050
Processor: Intel Core i5
RAM: 16GB

If you're really on a budget, then you simply won't find a better option right now than this Acer Nitro V at Walmart. A massive Presidents' Day price cut brings this one to under $600, which is very impressive considering you're getting a relatively new RTX 5050. While that's still an entry-level graphics card, it is the latest model, and one that should still get you some great frame rates at 1080p if you're willing to tweak a few specs here and there on the most graphically intensive titles.

Graphics card: RTX 5060

Another fantastic gaming laptop deal in the Walmart Presidents' Day sale, this MSI Cyborg is one of the cheapest machines I've seen today with an RTX 5060 graphics card. Impressively, despite this being a relatively affordable laptop, you're not skimping out on the chipset to get such a powerful GPU for the price. The RTX 5060 and Intel Core 7 chipset should get you a nice level of performance here, although the 512GB SSD is definitely on the small size.

I've looked through all of Lenovo's gaming laptop deals today, and my favorite has to be this RTX 5060-equipped Lenovo Legion 5. It's definitely a little pricey for a machine with this mid-range GPU, but the Legion 5 features a really nice premium design and a stunning OLED display. If you want a machine with a more premium feel as well as some power, then it could be worth it stretching for this deal.

Getting an RTX 5070 gaming laptop for just $1,200 is still pretty rare these days so this deal on the Acer Nitro V at Best Buy is definitely worth checking out. While it's not the cheapest machine on the market by any stretch, you should be able to get great performance right out the box with this Acer thanks to not only the RTX 5070 graphics card, but also a powerful Ultra processor, too.

Graphics card: RTX 5070

This Lenovo Legion 5i isn't the cheapest gaming laptop on the market right now, but it is absolutely fantastic value. Not only do you get a respectable RTX 5070 graphics card, but this Legion 5i also has the distinct advantage of a Core i7 chipset and an OLED display. That's extremely impressive for $1,399 and gives this premium gaming laptop a lot of appeal if you want something that not only runs well, but looks great.

Graphics card: RTX 5070 Ti
Processor: Intel Ultra 7

Today's best deal at the HP Store, in my opinion, is this massive $700 price cut on the HP Omen Max 16. This is one of the cheapest machines I've seen so far with the RTX 5070 Ti graphics card so you're getting a ton of bang for the buck here. The downside? The rather small 512GB SSD, which feels rather miserly for a machine of this calibre! Performance wise, however, this one is great.
