These new clip open earbuds cost just $50 at launch, and come from one of the best budget earbuds makers – who needs Black Friday?
Soundpeats' new Clip1 are incredibly affordable anyway, and are going in hard at launch
- Soundpears Clip1 are clip-style open earbuds with IPX5 water and sweat resistance
- 12mm dynamic drivers, LDAC and Hi-Res Audio certification
- Launch discount takes 20% off, with a coupon for a further 10% off, making them under $50
Soundpeats has announced a brand new set of earbuds, and we're all ears: the Soundpeats H3 earbuds recently blew us away with their sound quality and value for money, and the new Clip1 are even more affordable. There's also a limited-time launch deal that makes them even cheaper, and means it might not be worth waiting for Black Friday deals if this is the kind of earbud you're looking for.
You can get the Soundpeats Clip1 for $48.99 at Amazon US (full price is $69.99) using a 20% coupon on the page and then the code SPCP1NEWS at checkout for an extra 10% off. In the UK, you can get the Clip1 for £54.71 at Amazon UK (full price £74.99) using a coupon and code. Amazon US.
The Soundpeats Clip1 are open-ear headphones with the familiar dumbbell-esque ear hooks of clip-style buds. Inside each bud is a large dual-magnet 12mm dynamic driver and enough battery power for 8 hours of playback, rising to 40 hours via the charging case.
They're IPX5 rated for water and sweat resistance which, combined with the situational awareness you get from open-ear earbuds, makes them a good option for running and other outdoor activities.
Soundpeats Clip1: key features and pricing
The Soundpeats Clip1 support LDAC and Dolby Audio, and are Hi-Res Audio Wireless certified. Bluetooth is 5.4 and they feature auto-sensing so it doesn't matter which ears you put them in: they know where they are and switch the stereo accordingly.
The Clip1 feature a patented, C-shaped chamber designed to reduce wind noise, and they also feature AI-based ambient sound cancellation for calls, to keep your voice clears (but there's no active noise cancellation for general listening, to be clear).
There are three-zone touch controls and the obligatory phone app, and the earbuds feature dual-device pairing and a low-latency game mode that's also useful for video.

Could these be our new pick as the top budget option among the best open earbuds? I wouldn't put it past Soundpeats at all – we're in the middle of a full review right now, though.
If you love the price and just want to jump on them given the launch discount, that's understandable too.
The official price for the Clip1 is $69.99 in the US and £75 in the UK – but there's a double launch discount that drops the price considerably: Amazon is currently offering a 20% discount on Amazon US, Amazon UK, Amazon Australia and Amazon Canada – and if you then enter the code SPCP1NEWS you can get an extra 10% off. It's like Black Friday, except today is Wednesday.
