If you're aiming to score a pair of buds on the cheap then it's definitely worth looking forward to this year's Prime Day headphone deals. We're still a few months away from the big day itself but we're already starting to prepare this page, and our main Amazon Prime Day page for when all the sales and deals finally land.

This particular page will have all the best Prime Day headphone deals you'd expect from Apple, Sony, Beats, Bose, and other top brands. Traditionally speaking, Amazon Prime Day is second only to Black Friday when it comes to the breadth and width of discounts so it's definitely worth bookmarking this page ahead of time.

In the meantime, you'll find a selection of last year's Amazon Prime Day headphone deals just down below to give you an idea of what to expect. We're also updating this page with key dates, answers to frequently asked questions, and anything we think will be useful for our readers in the lead up.

If you're interested, we've also included a quick roundup of this week's best headphone sales from retailers relevant to your region and you can also see today's best Memorial Day sales. If you're not set on waiting around for Prime Day then it's well worth checking out these weekly deals from Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, or Currys and John Lewis if you're in the UK.

When will Amazon Prime Day headphone deals begin?

Amazon Prime Day will probably be taking place at sometime during mid July for 2022. We say probably here because Amazon doesn't tend to announce the exact dates for its big sale until much closer to the date.

Last year's Amazon Prime Day sale actually took place during June - an earlier date that Amazon preferred because of the pandemic. Now things are starting improve, however, we expect the retailer to shift the date back to its original placement. A few things won't change, however - it'll still be a two day event that runs from Monday morning to Tuesday evening.

Do you need Amazon Prime to buy Prime Day headphone deals?

An Amazon Prime membership will be required to take full advantage of this year's Prime Day headphone deals. While there are often listings open to everybody, usually the best deals are reserved for prime members only. If you're not a member, don't worry - you can still sign up for a free 30-day trial in the lead up. That will give you access to all the offers – and you can cancel the trial at any time within the 30 days.

We also saw plenty of other retailers offering competing Prime Day headphone deals last year. In the US, Best Buy and Walmart were price matching some of the record low prices we saw on big ticket items, and in the UK Currys was honoring price matches from Amazon as well.

Take part in Prime Day for free with a 30-day trial of Prime. You'll get the same benefits as paid members: free delivery, early access to lightning deals, plus video streaming, music, Prime gaming and more. You can cancel at any time during the trial. After 30 days, Prime will cost $12.99/£7.99 per month.

Last year's best Prime Day headphone deals (US)

Just below we've preserved a number of last year's Prime Day headphone deals with their savings amounts and the various things we said about them. At the time, the best deals were probably on the Sony WH-1000XM4 - our favorite pair of wireless headphones at TechRadar. In both the UK and US, we saw some fantastic prices on these top noise-cancelling headphones. AirPods deals were particularly good in the UK, with the 2019 AirPods Pro dropping to their lowest ever price.

It's worth noting that this year's Prime Day headphone deals should feature many of the same models as just down below - with a few exceptions in the case of the latest Apple AirPods. In short, we're expecting even better savings this year since many of these models have had plenty of time on the market now.
