New Supergirl tease drops a big hint that a trailer for the DC comic book movie could be released very soon
A potentially super-exciting development for one of next year's most anticipated films
- Supergirl's first trailer might be released in a matter of days
- The appearance of a new X/Twitter account has sparked a fresh wave of rumors about its debut
- The DC comic book movie will arrive in theaters next June
Look out, Supergirl fans, because the DC Universe (DCU) movie's first trailer might be days away from receiving its world premiere.
With Supergirl set to be released on June 26, 2026, less than seven months remain – at the time of publication – until its flies into theaters. And, if the appearance of a new X/Twitter account is anything to go by, its first teaser could drop sometime in early December.
Indeed, the Supergirl trailer rumor mill kicked into gear on November 26 when a new X/Twitter account, which has the handle @supergirl and bears the name SupergirlFilm, suddenly appeared online (credit to DCUFilmNews for spotting it first).
At the time of writing, the account doesn't have a profile image or any posts, nor has it been verified with a gold tick to indicate it's an official account. However, it is being followed by over 5,000 people and, while nobody who follows it are part of the DCU film's cast and crew, the timing of the account's live status is nevertheless pretty significant.
HBO Max (basic ads plan): was $10.99 per month now $2.99 at HBO Max
There's so much to explore on HBO Max, making this Prime Video add-on deal ideal for anyone that wants to spend less on a year's subscription. Once you're signed up, make sure to check out recent releases like Welcome to Derry, The Conjuring: Last Rites, and The Pitt as well as plenty of great A24 movies. This is one of the best subscriptions you can have right now, but be quick – because this deal ends on December 1.
Why is Supergirl's first trailer expected to arrive before 2025 ends?
Because the 2025 edition of Brazil Comic-Con (CCXP), which runs December 4 to 7 this year, is less than a week away.
After San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), CCXP is arguably the most notable convention where big announcements are made by comic book giants Marvel and DC. Reveals at CCXP aren't usually as important as those made at SDCC but, considering it's the final event of its kind that takes place every year, it's the last time that these industry titans get to drum up excitement for projects they'll release in the months to come.
As the above X/Twitter post, which appeared on the Warner Bros. Brazil account, confirmed on November 18, DC will be present at CCXP 2025. Additionally, the tweet suggests DC will begin its promotional campaign for the flick formerly known as Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow – find out why DCU co-chief James Gunn wanted Supergirl's name to be simplified – at the event, too.

What better way is there to kick off your months-long marketing run for one of 2026's most exciting new movies than showing the first official footage from said superhero film, then? In my view, there isn't one – and that's why I'm more confident than ever that a teaser for the DCU Chapter One movie will be unveiled at CCXP 2025.
Okay, if one is revealed at the aforementioned convention, it doesn't mean it'll be released publicly around the same time that it premieres at CCXP. But, with leaked recordings of the trailer potentially appearing online in the hours and/or days after its likely unveiling, it would be in DC Studios' best interest to release Supergirl's first teaser online soon after.
I'll cover the trailer whenever it drops, so keep your eyes trained on TechRadar for more. In the meantime, find out everything we know so far about Supergirl and get the lowdown on who'll appear in it via my Supergirl cast and character guide.
