Want a security camera without the monthly fee? These subscription-free cams are going cheap for Amazon Prime Day

We gave the Altas PT Ultra a glowing review thanks to its super-solid build, excellent video quality, and up to 512MB onboard storage that negates the need for a cloud-based subscription. It's a piece of cake to install, and during our tests it was brilliant in all weathers. It really excelled at night though, recording in full colour without the need for spotlights. This Prime Day deal is the cheapest it's ever been, so grab it while you can!

It offers a handful of useful features such as privacy zones and motion detection, saves your footage to an SD card so everything is under control. Great for guarding your home, or as a handy pet camera.

Yep, it's a doorbell rather than a camera, but it's such good value for Prime Day that I had to include it. This wireless EZVIZ model has two cameras so you can see people's faces and packages with equal clarity, a solar panel to extend its battery life, a plug-in indoor chime, and local storage via an SD card. It's not the prettiest thing in the world, I'll admit, but you'll be hard-pressed to find a better doorbell for £80 with no extra fees necessary.
