Apple iPhone 16: was £699 now £639 at Laptops Direct

Now we get onto the SIM-only savings, and the iPhone 16 is still a great pick for Apple fans one year after release. It's got a beautiful 6.1-inch display, two high-quality cameras with the Camera Control shutter button, and the speedy A18 chipset with support for Apple Intelligence. At this price, the iPhone 16 is barely more expensive than the budget-tier iPhone 16e, and it beats that device on multiple fronts.

The iPhone 16 Plus is the same great phone as the smaller iPhone 16, with a bigger 6.7-inch display and larger battery, offering up to 27 hours of video playback. It's got the same A18 chip as its smaller sibling, as well as the same dual-camera system and overall design. This discount from Laptops Direct brings the price of the handset down to the current retail price of the smaller iPhone 16.

Apple iPhone 16

Apple iPhone 16: was £599 now £509 at Amazon

Amazon has the budget-focused iPhone 16e at £509 in this Black Friday deal. As Apple's cheapest current-generation handset, the iPhone 16e brings the essential iPhone experience down in price while retaining great features like the 48MP Fusion Camera and Action Button. The iPhone 16e caused some debate over its price at launch, but this discount price is much more in line with comparable handsets like the Google Pixel 9a and Samsung Galaxy A56. The same iPhone 16e deal is also available at John Lewis.

Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max

Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max: was £1,199 now £1,099 at Laptops Direct

The iPhone 16 Pro Max was discontinued when the iPhone 17 series came in to replace it, and as such, it's hard to find new models on the market, let alone big discounts. Still, Laptops Direct has a deal on last year's best iPhone, bringing the price of this premium handset down to £1,099. Sure, that's still expensive, but it beats the price of the new iPhone 17 Pro Max by £100.

Google Pixel 10

Google Pixel 10: was £799 now £599 at Amazon

The Google Pixel 10 is a whopping £200 off in this Amazon Black Friday deal, which is a bigger discount than we'd normally expect to see from a recently-released flagship phone. While this link leads to a deal on the Indigo color option, the Obsidian and Lemongrass variants are also on sale for the same price. The 256GB version of the Pixel 10 is on sale, too, which is worth considering if you're thinking of holding on to your next phone for more than two years.

The Pixel 10 Pro is a worthy upgrade over the standard Pixel 10 for its better cameras, brighter screen, and higher RAM capacity, while the Pixel 10 Pro XL is the model to go for if you prefer an extra-large display. AO is offering better Black Friday deals on both Pixel 10 Pro models than Amazon at the time of writing, though its stock of the Pixel 10 Pro XL has run dry. As a result, Amazon's still-excellent £999 deal price is your best option for the larger of the two phones.

Samsung Galaxy A36

Samsung Galaxy A36: was £399 now £249.98 at Amazon

Amazon has the budget-friendly Samsung Galaxy A36 available for a record-low £279 this Black Friday, knocking £40 off the phone's RRP. What's more, this model comes with 256GB of storage, double that of its US counterpart, meaning more space for photos, videos, apps and games. We recommend the A36 to phone buyers looking for a no-frills experience; it offers solid specs for everyday use, a big screen, and decent storage capacity for photos, videos, and apps.

Samsung Galaxy S25
Save £210
Samsung Galaxy S25: was £799 now £589 at AO.com

AO has the Samsung Galaxy S25 for £589 this Black Friday season, knocking £210 off the usual asking price. With a 6.2-inch display, Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, 12GB of RAM, and three great cameras, this is a serious contender for the best value handset in its price range, and this discount is one of the best I've seen this year.

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE
Save £150
Samsung Galaxy S25 FE: was £649 now £499 at Amazon

The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE takes everything great about the Galaxy S25, bumps the screen size up, trims the specs down, and slashes the price tag. At this discounted price, this 6.7-inch phone with 128GB of storage is a clear winner against several Android rivals, and stands up well against the iPhone 16e. Again, though, we'd recommend picking up this phone with 256GB of storage to be safe in the long term.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge
Save £350.99
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: was £1,099.99 now £749 at Amazon

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is the thin and light flagship phone for Android fans. It's got a 6.7-inch display, the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and, in this case, 256GB of fast storage. Amazon's record-low £749 sale price applies to all three colors, and similar discounts are available on the 512GB variant of the phone.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra
Save £390
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: was £1,349 now £959 at AO.com

The best Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra deal available right now is AO's £959 sale price on the 512GB model. That's even cheaper than Amazon's sale price on the 256GB model, so there's really no debate over which retailer you should choose. For £959, you'll get the customary mix of high-end power and excellent camera performance, as well as some of the best smartphone AI on the market right now. This deal also means the Galaxy S25 Ultra is some £440 cheaper than the iPhone 17 Pro Max with 512GB of storage, which currently retails for £1,399.

The excellent (and newly released) OnePlus 15 serves up a high-spec 50MP triple rear camera system, a high-capacity 7,300mAh battery, and the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The phone also boasts a gorgeous 6.8-inch display, which is capable of an almighty 165Hz refresh rate. That's flagship quality all the way, and with both Amazon and OnePlus offering the OnePlus 15 with 512GB for just £879 this Black Friday, it might just be the phone bargain of the year.

In the UK, Amazon has undercut Nothing's own Black Friday price for its flagship model on both the 256GB and 512GB storage models, which must be annoying at Nothing HQ, but it's very good news for potential customers. Though the Phone 3 lacks a traditionally flagship-grade chipset, its triple-camera system and head-turning design make it a compelling choice for design fanatics and those not already tied down to a rival device ecosystem.

Black Friday phone deals: buying advice

What storage capacity should you choose?

Apple now offers 256GB of storage as standard with all iPhone 17 models, but if you're shopping for deals on previous-generation iPhones or devices from another manufacturer, we recommend that you choose 256GB of storage over 128GB.

Why? Because apps and photos are now larger than ever before, and they're only set to get bigger. Specifically, as phone cameras have become more advanced, photos captured with them have got larger in size, and apps too have ballooned in size thanks to new features, higher-quality graphics, and more regular updates.

If you're not someone who plans to take loads of photos and download loads of storage-hungry apps, then 128GB of storage may be an acceptable capacity for you. But for 90% of users, it's better to be safe than sorry.
