I've tested a number of the best smartwatches, and I can tell you that if you're a runner, Garmin is the absolute best. Taking up five out of the ten spots in our guide to the best running watches shows how highly we rate them.

One of our favourites, despite being a few years old, is the Garmin Forerunner 265, which is on sale at Amazon for £314.49 (was £369.99). The 4.5-star smartwatch has a gorgeous AMOLED display, a dedicated physical run button, and a ton of features for runners.

Garmin's best running watch is now down to its lowest-ever price, but only until May 5 — or stock runs out. The Forerunner 265 boasts a bright and crisp AMOLED display, a small and pretty design, and features a run button so you can launch that activity even when you're wearing gloves. It's a great watch, and a great buy at this price.

The Garmin Forerunner 265 was released three years ago, and yet it still absolutely holds its own. At the time, our smartwatch expert, Matt Evans, called it one of the best Garmin has ever made. It has since been superseded by the Forerunner 570, but at £150 less than the newer model, it's easy to see why the 265 is so attractive.

The highlight of the watch is the super-bright AMOLED touchscreen, which we think competes even with the latest Apple watches. As you'd expect with any running smartwatch, it works well in all conditions and is waterproof. Touchscreen functionality continues even when you're sweating hard.

In Matt's words: "The eye-popping AMOLED touchscreen certainly brings it more into traditional smartwatch territory, rather than a functional sports watch, and the new 'run' button is cute."

The Forerunner 265 is fantastic for runners, but if you're looking for a general smartwatch rather than a dedicated running watch, you'll want to check out our best smartwatch guide instead.
