The new MacBook Air has already dropped to a record-low price on Amazon

The brand-new MacBook Air only launched around a month ago, but it's already being offered with a $150 discount on Amazon. That means you can get the MacBook Air 13-inch (M5) at Amazon for $949 (was $1,099).

That's the price for the base configuration with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. Thankfully, that's double the amount of memory and storage in the base model compared to previous-generation versions of the laptop — a much welcome upgrade.

However, if you want even more, all variations of the 2026 MacBook Air are on sale with the same $150 off. For example, you can upgrade to a configuration with 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD for $1,149 (was $1,299) or 24GB RAM and a 1TB SSD for $1,349 (was $1,499).

The MacBook Air 13-inch with the M5 chip is the latest and greatest MacBook Air yet. It's easy to carry with its lightweight and compact frame, only about 2.7 lbs with a 13.6-inch liquid retina display. It offers double the storage of its predecessors as standard, with a 512GB SSD and 16GB RAM in its base configuration, as well as support for WiFi 7.

The MacBook Air M5 follows the design philosophy of past devices with its lightweight and compact aluminum frame. It weighs about 2.7 lbs and features a 13.6-inch liquid retina display with vibrant colors. It also lasts up to 18 hours on one charge, which is extremely handy for all-day working.

In our Apple MacBook Air 13-inch (M5) review, we gave it a nearly perfect score as it combines the best of both worlds between its design and power. It also ups the starting storage from 256GB to 512GB, and provides WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6 support.

If you want more storage, you might as well take advantage of the discount just because of that. The MacBook Air is also what we typically recommend for most people if you want a powerful all-around laptop, unless you need the Pro for demanding photo and video editing tasks.
