I've found the 7 best Labor Day gaming laptop deals: save up to $450 on Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, and more

The annual Labor Day sales aren't always known for deals on gaming laptops, but I've been surprised by the quality of this year's discounts from Best Buy, Dell, and other leading retailers. In fact, today's sales have some of the lowest prices I've seen all year on not just older models, but also ones with new RTX 5060 and RTX 5070 graphics cards.

Before I get to those, I recommend those on a budget consider this super-cheap Asus TUF A15 for just $649.99 (was $899) at Staples. I've been recommending this one for a few weeks now, but it easily remains the best budget option with its RTX 4060. Sure, this graphics card is a little older now, but it pairs nicely with this A15's Ryzen 5 chipset and 16GB of RAM for a solid budget 1080p gaming machine.

Another one of my favorites is this MSI Katana 15 for $1,099 (was $1,499) at Walmart. It's the cheapest machine I've seen so far carrying an RTX 5070 graphics card – and you also get a really, really nice 14th-gen Intel Core i7 chipset. It's a shame that it's only got 16GB of RAM, but that's an easy DIY upgrade – plus, it's enough to get you started with decent performance right out the box.

Walmart has just listed a huge price cut on this MSI Katana 15 gaming laptop – just in time for Labor Day. At $1,099, this is one of the cheapest machines I've ever seen to carry a higher-end RTX 5070 graphics card, and you also get a superb 14th-gen Core i7 chipset for good measure. While you'll likely want to upgrade to 32GB of RAM to unleash this laptop's full potential, this is a fantastic bang-for-the-buck 1440p gaming machine.

Dell's Labor Day sale includes some very, very enticing deals on gaming laptops. Case in point - this Alienware 16 Aurora. This is one of the more budget-oriented machines from the brand, but you're still getting a powerful Ultra 7 chipset and a brand-new RTX 5060 graphics card. With $400 off, you're getting a really solid 1080p gaming machine here for the money.

The Asus G16 is one of our favorite higher-end gaming laptops, and Best Buy has a great price on this RTX 5070 Ti configuration right now. With a Ryzen 9 chipset, this machine melds superb performance with a beautiful premium design. The only downside? This machine only comes with 16GB of RAM, which is a relatively easy DIY upgrade, to be fair – especially with this machine's new toolless design.

Looking for something a little more powerful? My other favorite gaming laptop deal at Dell today is for this upgraded Aurora 16X. With an Ultra 9 and RTX 5070 graphics card, this one is all set for smooth frame rates at 1440p resolution for a few years. It's not cheap, but a $350 price cut definitely makes this a very competitive choice right now in the mid-range gaming laptop deals market.
