Best Buy's New Year gaming laptop deals offer up to $650 off RTX 5060 and RTX 5070 models this week
Discounts that rival Black Friday
Best Buy's Black Friday sale is a thing of the distant past now, but the retailer's current batch of gaming laptop deals is almost as good if you're on the hunt for a decent machine. In fact, today's price cuts reach all the way up to $650 off - not bad, considering the New Year isn't typically known for these types of deals.
Today's best deals start with this HP Omen 16 for $1,099 (was $1,689) at Best Buy - an incredible mid-range option if you just want something solid and no thrills. While this machine features a potentially divisive League of Legends-themed design, the combination of an RTX 5060, Core i7 chipset, and 32GB of RAM is fantastic at this price.
Moving up in price, two fantastic RTX 5070-equipped options are this Asus TUF A16 for $1,399 (was $1,699) and this Lenovo Legion 5 for $1,399 (was $1,999). Of the two, the Asus is the slightly better bang-for-the-buck option, but the Lenovo features a stunning premium OLED display that's definitely worth checking out.
You can read more about these deals, and others, just down below. Note that Best Buy's New Year sale is starting to wind down now, so you might not have that much longer to get a discount if you're interested.

Graphics card: RTX 5060
Processor: Intel Core i7 14650HX
RAM: 32GB
This HP Omen 16 is a special League of Legends themed edition, but the eye-catching design isn't the main draw. The major selling point is this HP's potent combination of an RTX 5060 graphics card, Intel Core i7 chipset, and 32GB of RAM, which are all great for a machine in this price bracket. With such specs, you'll have no issues playing games smoothly on this machine's 1200p display.

This Acer Predator is a little pricey for a machine with an RTX 5060, but it makes up for it with its 1600p 240Hz OLED display. That's a premium feature, and one that makes this laptop a great choice for not just gaming, but also all other types of media. Of course, with an RTX 5060 and Ultra 9 chipset, you still have plenty of power for most games here.

If you're on the quest for the ultimate bang-for-the-buck, then you'll be hard-pressed to beat this heavily discounted Asus TUF laptop at Best Buy. It's easily one of the cheapest machines I've seen with the upper-mid-range RTX 5070 graphis card, and this machine also features a strong Ryzen 9 chipset and 32GB of RAM. The Asus TUF range aren't high-end laptops, so don't expect a super premium design - but in terms of power, this machine is fantastic value.

Graphics card: RTX 5070
Processor: Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX
RAM: 16GB
This Lenovo Legion 5 is probably my favorite gaming laptop deal at Best Buy today, as it comes with not only an RTX 5070 graphics card but also a stunning OLED display. The only downside here is you get a rather miserly 16GB of RAM, which is a tough pill to swallow when RAM prices are so absurdly high. Still, upgrading is an option, and this machine is a very good starting point.

Want a gaming laptop that looks as good as it runs? The Asus Zephyrus G16 has always been a favorite here at TechRadar thanks to its stunning design and premium build quality. Thanks to a massive price cut, you can currently get this RTX 5070 configuration for much cheaper at Best Buy today. Overall, not the best value deal on our list, but one that's well worth considering if you want a really premium gaming laptop.
