Here's a fun one: the Journey+ feels like a Fisher-Price record player made for grown-ups thanks to its old-school suitcase design. But it's perfectly modern inside with integrated speakers and Bluetooth streaming from your phone or computer.

This turntable is a great option for beginners and budget buyers, deftly marrying quality, cost and convenience: we reckon it's one of the best-sounding beginner turntables on the market right now.

This is a great combination: Audio-Technica's entry-level record player and Mackie's fantastic wireless powered studio monitors. Those speakers aren't just for the turntable: you can also stream from your phone, tablet or computer.

Your writer owns this very model and loves it to bits: it's a well-specced, fully manual turntable with Bluetooth (aptX) and USB and a switchable integrated phono stage. It looks rather like a certain Technics and it was one of our very favorite turntables when it first launched in 2021.

The previous price here is a bit misleading, but it's what Amazon lists – really, the standard price for this is around $249. But it's still an excellent deal for this price. Even the setup for this rock-solid entry-level deck is part of the fun and once you've got it spinning, it's a dream for the money. Owing to its popularity, it actually increased in price following its release, so while it was once $148 (in September 2019) this is emphatically the lowest price it hits these days. Highly recommended.

As the name says, this turntable has been designed specifically for Sonos systems and delivers effortless wireless connectivity with your Sonos gear. It's a good-looking thing, and if you're keen to add vinyl to your shiny Sonos setup, it doesn't get much easier than this.

A great turntable for beginners: easy to use, has Bluetooth connectivity, and won't damage your vinyl despite being cheap. We gave it four stars in our review, and we rate it as the best option at this price. You can get it on its own, or you can get a bundle that includes the turntable and a pair of wired speakers for £189 (was £249) here.

This was only recently released, and already has a nice discount! We haven't reviewed it, so your writer can't vouch for it, but House of Marley is generally reliable – and if you want to save space with built-in speakers instead of separates, it could be perfect.

This is another turntable we haven't tested, but Denon's reputation precedes it. If you want a small turntable with lovely chunky buttons and a classic look, this is an excellent price. And it's automatic, so again is ideal for beginners – just push a button and it'll move the arm and start playing. There's no Bluetooth here, though.

Lenco's a familiar sight in high-street record shops, and this deal takes the already affordable LS-300 down to under £150 – not bad for a turntable that also includes a pair of stereo speakers. This is a good option for budget buyers and for smaller spaces such as home offices or student accommodation.

One of the most popular turntables, and for a damn good reason: it looks great, it sounds great, it's easy to set up and use, it has Bluetooth… oh, and it's got a great low price this Black Friday weekend.

This is the turntable your writer owns, and would heartily recommend: it's an excellent turntable with both Bluetooth and USB, an integrated switchable phono stage and fully manual operation.
